Although rural communities can be a beautiful place to live, work, and raise a family, life can be difficult due to limited healthcare access. Today, we recognize National Rural Health Day by thanking rural clinicians; while bringing awareness to the unique healthcare challenges these communities face every day. #powerofrural https://hubs.ly/Q02YVGLX0

Did you know a whopping 97% of the USA is considered "rural" and approximately 19% of the overall population lives in these areas according to the National Rural Health Administration. Folks living in rural areas face many challenges such as increased chronic disease rates, healthcare access issues, underinsured or no insurance, and increased mental health concerns. Let's drive policy to focus on rural areas to increase funding, access and awareness!
Happy National Rural Health Day! We honor the incredible efforts of rural healthcare providers, communities, organizations, State Offices of Rural Health, and other stakeholders dedicated to addressing the unique healthcare needs of rural America. #PowerofRural

Code G2211 was created to recognize the importance of trust and longitudinal relationships in healthcare. Trust moves the needle. Why are carriers “bundling” these payments as if trust should be taken for granted?

?? 62% of Americans believe it’s the government’s responsibility to ensure health care coverage for all—the highest in over a decade. This isn’t just a statistic—it’s a reflection of the everyday struggles people face: ?? Families choosing between medical bills and groceries. ?? Patients avoiding the health care system because of mistrust or confusion. ?? Entire communities are being left behind, particularly those in lower-income areas and communities of color. At United States of Care, we hear these stories every day. Health care is personal, and people are clear: They need affordable, accessible care they can trust, and it’s time to act.

Today's #NHCW24 focus is Patient Appreciation. Patients play a major role in governing Community Health Centers and directing care. As Dr. Jack Geiger, one of the founders of the Health Center Movement said: "There is no other part of the American health care system in which patients themselves have such a powerful voice." Health center boards are required to have a patient majority, drawn from current patients of the program. We celebrate the patients and community board members who keep health centers accountable for meeting the needs of local communities. Read more in Dr. Geiger's 2016 article about the role of patients and communities in the earliest health centers: https://lnkd.in/eUqPSGaj #ValueCHCs
