So, as you may have heard;?after nearly 30 years since founding Rogue in a stationary cupboard in Wardour Street with David van der Gaag; having the privilege to have launched and nurtured many, many stellar careers along the way, won numerous awards, made lifelong friends and banked enough memories of epic, brilliant, challenging – and hugely fun - adventures around the world to fill a couple of large memoirs (which I’ll spare you, don’t worry);??I have decided that it’s the time to leave the band - and the next chapter of this thriving company to my partners James Howland & Kate Taylor. ?The most important thing in business is to keep moving and changing and developing, and with Rogue in robust health and with an enviable succession plan in place, now is that time.
If anyone had told me, back in the ‘90’s when David and I pulled the name Rogue from a hat and launched this venture on a wing, a prayer and a motley gang of directors - who we believed in even if nobody else did - that nearly three decades later, I'd have played a part in building one of the most consistently successful advertising production companies in the UK, I would have thought they were pushing their luck, because at times it felt like we’d be lucky if we made it past three months.??But over the years, through the triumphs and near disasters, the culture and DNA of the Rogue brand has become synonymous with beautifully crafted productions, regularly voted in peer polls as one of the very best companies to work with - and always being thoroughly professional, trustworthy and adding value to every production.?And that’s probably the reason that clients have kept coming back.
I’m endlessly proud of everything that we’ve all accomplished together - but this isn’t goodbye (no booing at the back) – far from it - I’m hoping that my solo career will be more Robbie Williams than Jason Orange, obviously – and I’m just really looking forward to the chance to dive into new challenges and opportunities in this wonderful, creative and ever evolving game.?
As anyone who knows me will tell you, I am vibrantly energised by finding the best in this business.?I love that it’s constantly re-inventing itself - and as I look around, I see so much fantastic talent and opportunities oriented towards the future.? I’m relentlessly optimistic and there’s so much more that I want to do, so I’m seizing the day.
Mind you, that’s what Jason Orange said…
