?? Have you ever thought about this intriguing question: What do you really know when you know something? For example, what do you truly know when you know emotional intelligence? These are the types of foundational questions we begin with in the exciting process of developing new courses for adult education in Psychology under Skolverket’s ?mnesreformen Gy25 project. Led by a group of National Coordinators, Daniela Kronvall is one of them, this project within the Correctional Institution in Sweden is part of a larger reform aimed at revamping how adult learners engage with knowledge. The focus is not just on what is taught, but on how and why it is taught—building a deeper, more integrated understanding of key subjects that meet the evolving needs of today’s learners and society. In ?mnesreformen Gy25, we are rethinking traditional approaches to subject matter and pedagogy. It’s about aligning the curriculum with the real-world applications of knowledge. For example, how does an adult learner connect the dots between theoretical concepts and practical skills? What competencies should they leave the classroom with? This reform isn’t just about ticking off learning objectives—it’s about fostering a lifelong relationship with learning and society. Exciting news! The VIC SWPBS website has just been updated with the official list of schools that achieved an award for their efforts in 2023. Warm congratulations to all the 2023 recipients! The complete list is here: https://lnkd.in/gHNA3Mwx The site here: https://lnkd.in/gqBcpVje Key takeouts: 1) More than 200 Victorian Government schools achieved an award for their implementation efforts in 2023 2) Schools are demonstrating outstanding SWPBS progress throughout Victoria 3) We are now seeing outstanding examples of SWPBS in each kind of school - primary, secondary, and specialist settings International research, alongside internal evaluations, tells us that schools achieving fidelity are likely to outperform other schools in key areas such as classroom behaviour, perceptions of bullying, and collective efficacy amongst staff.

Telling schools that their ‘triangle is upside down’ is not helpful. Schools have the students they have, and those students are enrolled as 100% of the human beings that they are. The infamous triangle presumes to know what the ‘correct’ proportion of students' needs ought to be. Of course, some needs can best be met via school-wide interventions. Of course, some interventions need an individualized approach. And of course, we have to decide how to align resources. However, the infamous triangle won’t help us do this. Telling schools that there’s something wrong without stopping to consider the actual needs of the children and youth a school serves misses the point. And it’s another reason why we can skip triangles when developing mental models for intervention. #PBIS #RTI #MTSS #PLC #ProfessionalLearningCommunity
