Had a great time at the meet-up by Prodigal this Saturday. The idea behind the meet-up was to talk about real world AI/ML use cases that are running in production and solving real business problems today, beyond the hype and chatter around AI. We had a great breadth of topics spread across the video industry, insurance, consumer finance, sales, CRMs and developer productivity. We deep dived into how Venkata Pingali is building lego like architectures at Scribble Data to deploy agents in a fairly short development time.?Once built - Abhishek Choudhary at TrueFoundry explained how we can auto-deploy from generating a docker file, auto fixing bugs seen during deployment to have a successful pod deployed in Kubernetes cluster, all the while using a spot instance node to save cost!! Bharath Kumar Mohan presentation on how Sensara Technologies's platform allows you to slice and search movies by certain scenes, cast, genre, thematics and more, was exciting. The data engineer in me was amazed at how smooth the data fetching was, searching through heavy video/audio/image data in subsecond latencies using interval trees. The product engineer in me learnt how to do a great product demo. This was followed up by Sangram Raje presenting how Prodigal is hyper-personalising communication between the lenders and consumers, including making sure the content is safe and takes care of compliances, using our in-house Content Checker system. The talk that had an unending stream of questions from the audience was by Nirav Bhan who showed how a small language model purposefully built for a specific use case, can perform much better and at a much lower cast than a generally available Large language model. Amazed at the lift they are seeing. With an amazing line up of speakers, fun AI games, and insightful networking session with the attendees, it was a Saturday well spent.
