In our real estate industry there is a term used by some brokerage firms called a “CAP”. This is when an agent finally achieves 100% commission status at their firm AFTER they contribute a certain percentage of their revenue to the company. Typically, the agent has to contribute $16,000, $20,000 or even more before they can “CAP”. Their commission plan then resets each year. This means that the majority of the agents at the firm are always on a split and never see 100% commission. If they do it is on only a handful of transactions before it resets again. At MVP Realty our agents “CAP” the day they join the company. They receive 100% of their hard earned commission on day one.
