Feeling stuck professionally over the past several months and not sure of a way forward, I took someone’s recommendation to contact Valerie Polunas, the founder of Flowing River Conflict Solutions (https://lnkd.in/grj_y9e7). While Valerie specializes in professional relationship coaching to resolve conflicts among groups of people, I had a fair amount of internal conflict going on, and she agreed to work individually with me across four sessions.
I wasn’t sure what I was going to articulate in the first session with Valerie; it turned out a whole lot more was going through my head than I expected. Valerie showed expertise from the start in guiding me to unpack the conflict, identify its impact on me mentally and physically, and to look at the primary relationships involved from multiple perspectives. Just being able to do that helped me shift my perspective away from the noise and towards a positive resolution.
Over the next three sessions, Valerie shared a few vital tools to help me clarify some decisions I needed to make and craft conversational approaches that are thoughtful, clear, and solution focused. Through working with the tools in the sessions and on my own, I was able to bring some questions and requests forward in a positive manner and greatly improve my perspective on my circumstances.
Valerie demonstrates extraordinary listening skills and offers exceptional feedback and coaching. It can be scary to start this process, more so if you are going to ask someone to join you in it, but if you have a workplace-based conflict you need assistance with resolving, or even want to build better bridges with others, I can highly recommend her.
