With the recent city-wide closing of Foxtrot stores throughout #Chicago, this story about how convenience stores are evolving into destination locations highlights the need for corner-store meeting places, which serve that critical niche of "#neighborhood convenience". This concept is also what I believe was the critical nail in the coffin for the #Foxtrot business model, where stores seemed to miss the mark in stocking the essentials, like milk, eggs, and other staples that would have facilitated regular foot traffic to the store, where the alternative would have been a longer journey to the grocery store or paying delivery fees.
