Are you feeling overwhelmed by the endless tasks? It is hard and time-consuming to develop strategies and stay on top. Picture this: You have a big dream to grow?and scale your business. Make it a habit to follow up with your customers at least once or twice a month, tailored to your product/service offering. I hired a DJ with no B2B sales experience for a B2B sales job. ?? I was starting to scale a new sales team and needed to make my first 2 hires. Once again, this was an experiment and my job depended on getting these first two hires right. So I hired one person who was referred to me and had B2B sales experience... But took a chance on another person who: ?? Just graduated from Sac State a few months earlier ?? Was a part time DJ ?? And had an internship repping RedBull ?? Basically NO sales experience whatsoever. The "experienced" salesperson was meh. Solid B player. The newbie was one of the best sales hires I've ever made. Crushed it. Repeated President's Club. Scrappy. Coachable. Continual Learner. Organized. Flexible. Change Agent. Hard Working. Optimistic. Competitive. High Need for Achievement. All characteristics you can not teach. ?? Learning Lesson: When you're hiring your salespeople at your startup, ? focus less on "experience" and current skills and ? focus more on the behaviors, attitudes and beliefs (that you CAN'T teach) needed to be successful at YOUR startup. Anybody else had success hiring somebody who had NO B2B sales experience that ended up crushing it?

We have alot more fine-tuning to do but our unit economics tells us it's time! More on the role: ?? You will be joining a winning locker room - a team of sellers that are all hitting targets MoM. We are predictably partnering with 200+ customers per month (the AE team is closing at 55%+). Your work will generate $20 - 25k ARR / mo like clockwork. Room to grow too as we're just getting started. ?? This is a call-heavy role. Response rates and conversion rates are significantly higher over phone vs email. Gotta talk the talk...literally. No spray and pray. ?? We sell to blue-collar SMB personas (owners of Pool Servicing companies). They are straight shooters - no fluff. ?? Our commitment to you is that you will learn and earn more than you ever have. We take development seriously and hiring/promoting from within is path #1. If you aspire to be an AE, CSM, AM (and are a top performer) - you will do so in less than 12 mos. ?? You get to learn from an experienced leadership team that have successfully scaled multiple tech startups - the talent and experience level is very high at Skimmer. We've been there and done that. ?? Bonus points if you live in one of the sunbelt states (where most of our customers are located). When I was little, I hated house chores (still do). But my mom made me do them anyway. I’d dream of somehow having a “cleaning robot” to do all my weekly chores so that I could play more video games.??? Unfortunately, that dream still lives under my pillow. Maybe someday I’ll create one. Fast forward to the business world and… business chores eat up even more of my time. Customer onboarding, lead management, weekly reports, follow-up emails, blah blah blah. No one likes dealing with the repetitive work in their company and yet it eats so much time. Is the solution to hire a VA to do it? I mean… it’s a solution, just not a very good one. Here’s why: - Human errors vs 99.9% uptime with software - Limited scalability, forcing you to keep hiring more VAs - You need to train them, which gets expensive the more you scale - VAs aren’t always available (people need a life outside of work)? - Your VAs handle all your sensitive information (trusting new ones is difficult) - The VA may not be very good. So good luck manually reviewing all their work But… I have good news: you can actually make a “cleaning robot” this time (dreams really can become a reality). And for the past year, I’ve made 100s of them. They have saved my ass and have allowed me to focus on the more important, human-required aspects of my businesses. What should we prioritise?when we are young and just entering the workforce? Money??Job role? Company? There's no one right answer but I prioritised my manager. After all, this person is solely responsible for your growth, learning, hikes, promotions - everything. I have been very, very fortunate in this aspect. I grew the most when my manager aligned what the company expected of me with what I expected from the company. He pushed me to think beyond, to take up projects in domains that I had no experience in. He ensured that I had everything I needed to do a great job so all I had to worry about was my work and learnings. I am forever indebted to him. This is where I also learned what makes a great leader. When I hired my first team member 3 years back, I knew I wanted to be this person for all my team. In the last 3 years, I have hired 15+ team members personally in key positions. And most of them are doing such great work, heading their own verticals, pursuing?their own businesses or even working towards premium colleges currently. And mind you, most of them had under 1 year of experience. :) I am now once again building a young team and hiring. If you are a fresher (under 1 year of experience) and looking for a place where you get to learn a lot, be involved in the decision-making, and take charge of your own career, please apply. Priorities = Sacrifices We have the wrong idea about “priorities.” It is NOT about what you say you want. Anybody can claim, “I want to prioritize my upskilling,” or, “I want to prioritize the customer experience of my existing clients.” The real question is — what are you willing to give up for that? Are you okay with quitting social media and Netflix, so you can study Python each night for two hours? Are you okay with not hiring that salesperson, so you can invest more money in making your current customers happy? Priorities = sacrifices. That’s the truth that few people are willing to face.
