A morning Rant kinda; maybe late 20's catching up to me!!!! It's gonna be a long post!!!! So basically in linkedin or in general the HR community or to be very specific the #TalentAcquisition / #recruitment profession is already infamous in the market for various reasons well !!!! and come to that some very incompetent people being recruited as Recruiter or working in the Talent Acquisition field are making it Worse..... So this morning I got a call from a Recruiter of a well known manufacturing organisation asking me regarding potential job opportunities; well everything was going good when she asked me about my current and home location; I come from one of the #Sevensisters i.e Northeastern state #Assam so very proudly replied her that I am from #Assam; and come to find my shock when she replied "Assam right it is in Odisha" (this are her exact words); like seriously being wrong or not bring aware of a district or town name is something else and to confuse and entire State with another is entirely something else. Had it even a few years back I will have laughed off it but as I am getting older things like this really does pisses me off. Like how can a Recruiter who at least has to be a graduate doesn't know that #Assam and Odisha are two very beautiful but DIFFERENT state; like comeon how dumb are you that you don't know INDIA has 28 different states weren't we all taught this in School. Ignorant fools like these really made me realise Identity crisis is really a thing and the biggest problem is that people from my own community i.e talent acquisition professionals are so ignorant; when we should be so much aware of these little things!!!!! My Question is you are working as a Recruiter in a leading company and you don't know about your own country!!!!! Digital technology adoption and digital transformation have the potential to disrupt status quo and put Bihar on the growth path across every domain. But since these facilities weren’t available to us, we don’t end up doing well in placements. I wish that my college signs MOUs with nonprofit organisations so that more job opportunities open up for us. I had trouble adjusting in the beginning as I was developing the skill of writing reports and speaking to the community on the job. If I had done more field visits during the course, maybe this process would have been easier. I’m still struggling to find a job.
