**A Milestone Moment at Singapore Airshow 2024: Vietjet's Leap into the Future with Airbus A330neo Deal** In a groundbreaking announcement that's setting the tone for the future of aviation, Vietjet and Airbus Group have unveiled a partnership that's about to change the game. At the heart of this collaboration? An order for 20 state-of-the-art A330neo (A330-900) aircraft. Why is this significant? For starters, it marks Vietjet's most ambitious step into the wide-body aircraft realm, making it a highlight of this year's Singapore Airshow. But it's more than just numbers. These aircraft are set to redefine Vietjet's long-range network, connecting high-demand destinations across the region with unprecedented efficiency. The transition from the leased A330-300 fleet to the A330neo is not just an upgrade. It's a strategic move towards operational excellence, embracing the future with open arms. Christian Scherer of Airbus puts it best, "The A330neo will propel Vietjet into its next expansion phase, achieving unmatched operating costs per seat and continuing to deliver exceptional value to its customers." Mr Dinh Viet Phuong from Vietjet echoes this sentiment, emphasizing the strategic addition of the A330neo to modernize and enhance operational capacities. "It's a leap towards our sustainable development strategy, aiming for net-zero emissions by 2050," he remarks, underscoring the commitment to a greener future. With Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines powering these birds, the A330-900 promises a non-stop range of 7,200nm/13,300km. This is more than just a statistic; it's a testament to the global reach and environmental commitment Vietjet is striving for. As of January 2024, the A330 family's legacy is undeniable, boasting 1,771 orders from over 130 customers. And as Vietjet joins this prestigious club, it's not just about expanding a fleet. It's about embracing innovation, pushing boundaries, and preparing for a future where the sky's not the limit but the beginning. Vietjet's journey is taking off, and we're here for it. ?? #VietjetAir #VietJetAirCargo #Airbus #A330neo #AviationInnovation #SustainableTravel #SingaporeAirshow2024

Very happy to read about the mega order placed by Cathay Pacific today for 60 Airbus A330-900Neos (30 firm + 30 options). It is the right way forward for CX, as it allows them to maintain "fleet continuity" as these planes would be replacing their existing Airbus A330-300s (39 units) so there is no re-training/certification what so ever required for their pilots and engineers. The two main benefits that the A339Neo brings to CX versus the A333s that it replaces are as follows: i. Up to 3 hours greater flying time hence permitting long haul flights to AKL, CHC and possibly NAN (Nadi), HNL, JED, MRU, IST, WAW, AMM, PRG in the future which the A333 cannot perform. ii. Better fuel burn i.e. A339Neo burns 6,477 liters per hour versus 7,099 liters for the A333 i.e. -9% On a seperate but more important note, the A339Neo is a much cheaper aircraft to purchase versus Boeing 787-10 and Airbus A350-900 hence big savings on CAPEX (capital expenditure) are incurred too. #A330neo #a330 #cathaypacific #hkg #oneworld #skyteam #staralliance #b787 #a350 #b777 #hongkong #airbus #kowloon

Delays can affect new aircraft developments regardless of whether they’re brand “A” or brand “B”. Ultimately though, what such delays confirm is that nothing is more important than safety to airworthiness authorities, OEMs, airlines and of course, passengers.
Airbus has delayed the service entry date for its A321XLR aircraft to later this year.

Cathay Group has just placed a firm order with Airbus for 30 A330-900 widebody aircraft, marking a significant step in their mid-size widebody fleet renewal program. This strategic decision will allow Cathay to modernise its earlier generation A330-300 fleet, enhancing their operations on high-capacity regional routes while offering the flexibility to serve longer-range destinations. Ronald S.P. Lam, Chief Executive Officer of Cathay Group, expressed his excitement: “As Cathay completes the final stretch of its rebuilding journey, we are turning the page to modernisation and growth, both in terms of scope and quality. This substantial investment reflects our immense confidence in Hong Kong’s leading international aviation hub status and our commitment to fostering our home city’s ongoing development.” With the A330neo powered by the latest generation Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines, Cathay is not only focusing on operational efficiency but also contributing to their goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. Airbus Chief Executive Officer, Commercial Aircraft, Christian SCHERER, praised Cathay's decision, stating, “This latest order is a major endorsement of the A330neo, the natural successor for existing A330 fleets. The aircraft brings significant reductions in fuel consumption and carbon emissions, along with the award-winning Airspace cabin, offering a whole new flight experience.” https://lnkd.in/gWrU2g6R Cathay Pacific #CathayGroup #Airbus #A330neo #Aviation #FleetModernisation #SustainableAviation #NetZero #HongKongAviation #AirspaceCabin

????3??0???? IndiGo (InterGlobe Aviation Ltd), #India 's top #airline by market share, on Thursday placed its first-ever order for #WideBody #aircraft, 30 Airbus #A350-900 planes, as the #LowCost carrier intensifies its efforts to take a bigger slice of the international #TravelBusiness from dominant Gulf airlines. It would be worth more than $9 billion, as per the last #Airbus catalogue rates published in 2018, with deliveries expected to begin in 2027. #IndiGo also has purchased rights for an additional 70 A350 family planes. The number of international #AirTravellers in India is expected to grow to 160 million by 2030 from 64 million in 2019, according to industry and government data, but the bulk of the traffic still goes to foreign carriers, such as Emirates. Foreign airlines accounted for 55% of outbound international traffic from India in the final quarter of last year, according to latest government data. IndiGo's new order will allow the airline to fly for the first time non-stop to destinations in Europe and North America, bypassing the Gulf, and as far afield as Australia to the Far East. ?? This is a very nice article from Rytis Beresnevicius, especially if you fly or have flown Airbus. I loved the time I spent flying the A330, and sometimes I have trouble deciding which is my preferred airliner (that I have flown), the A330 or the B787. The B787 is faster and burns less fuel. The wing is fantastic, and it glides. It is healthier, as the pressurisation system works differently; simply put, the aircraft captures outside air and channels it into the air conditioning system without bleeding it from the engine compressor stage. In turn, it allows higher humidity on board, added to the fact that it is made of Carbon fibre. Also, the cabin altitude is significantly lower than the rest of airliners. A horrible feature is the cockpit seat. Do you remember the wooden chairs at school? Well, something like that. Which one is your favourite, and why? #airlineindustry #airliners #boeing #boeing787 #airbus #airbuslovers

Plain Wings & Engines! The beauty & grace is in the wings! The power & mystery (and magic) is in the engines! Take a look at this video! From a fun perspective doesn’t it remind you of a giant vacuum cleaner gobbling up all the cars & trees in its path ;-) But seriously these are engineering marvels that suck in air, compress it, mixes it with fuel & shoots it out the back, creating powerful thrust! FLY! But what happens when engines don’t perform or fail! Then when things go south :-( Planes are grounded! Like what just happened with cathaypacific & their Airbus A350 What happens if there is no quick solution? Airlines could go bankrupt as with what happened to #india GOAIR Indigo still has around 70+ aircraft grounded due to engine issues. They are cash rich & can afford it! Many other airlines can’t! Engines - money gobbling vacumn machines or money spinning ones? #aviation #travel
