I am reminded of the Security Job scam posters in local trains long back. 6 Hours work, 8th standard pass, monthly Rs.20,000, Free food and accomodation. Thumbrule "When it is so good to be true, it wouldn't be true".

I got 5 job offer in las 3 weeks. I think all of them were equipment scam. They use professional company email, companys logo. Last one was Red Frog compast teas company which I applied from linkedin via easy apply.

I just encountered this yesterday. So disheartening. I spent hours in a text interview and acceptance offer. The person provided a LinkedIn profile to validate her identity for security purposes. The process took place over Skype, Once they emailed me the offer package requesting sensitive information. I asked that she provide an email from her company @Linde.com. She could not comply with my request. Unfortunately, I provided basic information, Name, address, DOB, email, phone, etc. I became more suspicious when the packet requested SS# and Mother's Maiden Name. I was unwilling to provide this information if she could not send the company email. Super discouraging.

When I didn't login within the 24 hours because I stayed logged in and figured that would suffice because I was checking for new packages from time to time, a nice touch was a automated message to remind you to login and make you think someone is attending to your account while they take time to use your information for fraud. Reminder to log in [email protected]?Unsubscribe Thu, Jul 25, 9:57?AM Dear Scott Pfaff, We remind you about the duty to log in to your account each business day. This message was sent automatically because you have not logged in to your account for more than 24 hours. You can ignore this message if it was sent in error. Best regards, E3 Ecommerce.

I am in the throes of an equipment scam! The company sent me the original email, followed up with a 15 question "interview" and a further description of the company, followed up with a congratulations email, followed up by a 6-page Offer Letter that listed the equipment I would need to purchase. The company would of course pay me in advance for the equipment, when I emailed back that I already had all the equipment listed and this was on the platform I had applied for, a Data Analyst. I'm still waiting to hear back from them. They used a "real" company's website, had the CEO's name correct, had the government contract correct everything checked out, but my daughter who is a highly placed Defense Industry employee helped me check them out. Something just wasn't right, I'm glad I found out before any of my personal information was given to them.

I've had many recruiters ask for copies of visas and/or drivers licenses. Automatic red flag. Not to mention bullet points of info to fill in and they look like they were typed up in notepad. DEMANDS for referral managers names and addresses (so they can add them to their schemes presumably).
