A growth mindset and inclusive education naturally complement each other, fostering an environment where every student can reach their potential. When students believe they can improve through effort and perseverance, they’re more willing to tackle challenges head-on. In a classroom that values inclusion, where teaching is tailored to meet diverse needs, a growth mindset encourages both students and teachers to see every obstacle as a chance to learn and grow. This combination helps create a classroom culture that’s supportive, adaptive, and focused on the success of all students.

I empower individuals to challenge the status quo | Neurodiversity and Mental Health Expert | CBT and NLP Practitioner
"Teach your children to sit down and be quiet so they can learn" I was often told that my children would stand up, move about and wiggle in their chairs while learning in school. I was supposed to reinforce in them to sit at the table to do their homework and reprimand them when they would move away from the table. I DID NOT I believe the purpose of learning is to assimilate information in a way that it becomes meaningful and applicable in our lives. To achieve this, the learning process must align with the learner's intrinsic needs and preferences. So during Neurodiversity Celebration Week I would like to encourage everyone to consider this question: "What is the right way to learn?" Maybe we could try to see what happens if we are to allow children to learn the way they learn best. Maybe we need to unlearn how we learn and start all over again. Maybe we can just be curious and open minded. Maybe we get to see great positive changes ... How do you learn new stuff? #neurodiversitycelebrationweek #Howwelearn #divergentthinking #divergentminds Image ID: Let's open the door to a world of possibilities where every individual has the opportunity to reach their full potential, in their own unique way.

Building Places People Want to Work | Organizational Development | EX Design | Strategic Planning Leader | Future Ready Firms | Leadership Acceleration | Working Mom | Public Accounting Firm & Finance Org Specialist
Everything the workplace needs is modeled in kindergarten. Today, I dropped off my daughter for the last day of school, where she cried all the way there, not wanting to leave her friends or teacher. Picture to prove her dismay. Poor thing. Despite her sadness, I am already excited for first grade and for another magical year at what I believe is the best public school in our state. Observing the past year, here are some key lessons for the modern workplace straight from kindergarten: ?? Fun matters: While learning and hard work are essential, making space for good old-fashioned fun is equally important. ?????? Learning is hands-on: Engage employees through hands-on activities to teach new skills and processes. Traditional "training" often falls short compared to interactive methods. Now, think VR and AI as ways to make that happen. ???????? Be kind: Emphasize kindness and respect for everyone in the workplace, fostering a culture that celebrates diversity and expects inclusion. ?? Live your core values: Your core values should guide vision, decision-making and accountability throughout the organization. (Every day at our school they lead with their Jag Pledge and the kids both know it and honor it. And are held accountable to it.) #KindergartenWisdom #leadershipdevelopment #buildingplacespeoplewanttowork

Bold Statement Alert: I’m a culture builder... As we embark on a new academic year, it's essential to remember that the heart of education lies not just in textbooks and exams, but in the vibrant culture we create within our schools. Before we dive into the rigors of academics, let's prioritize building a strong, inclusive student culture. Here’s why it matters: 1. Community Connection: A positive culture fosters relationships among students, teachers, and staff. When students feel connected, they are more likely to engage, participate, and support one another. *I recruited a student DJ. DJ Coco Chanel! 2. Emotional Well-being: A nurturing environment helps students feel safe and valued. When students' emotional needs are met, they are more prepared to tackle academic challenges. *I ensured my most busy boys and girls joined the party. 3. Encouraging Diversity: Embracing diverse backgrounds and perspectives enriches our community. Celebrating our differences leads to greater empathy and collaboration. *Everyone danced the way they felt comfortable and not one student was mean about it. 4. Motivation and Engagement: A strong culture ignites passion and enthusiasm for learning. When students are excited about their environment, they are more likely to excel academically. *At the end, I asked teachers to discuss ways to encourage our REACH values of respect for the upcoming week. 5. Lifelong Skills: Building a positive culture teaches essential life skills such as teamwork, communication, and leadership—skills that extend beyond the classroom. *It’s nice to be nice. What are your thoughts on building student culture? #StudentCulture #Education #Community #AcademicSuccess #InclusiveEducation #Empowerment
