Is grounding just for safety? Well there is more to it. Grounding often is oversimplified just as a safety mechanism. While its main role is protecting personal from electrical shock but its functions extend significantly deeper into electrical system integrity. Fundamentally, grounding establishes a common reference point for electrical circuit. This reference point is essential for control operations of electrical equipment and it enables us to make accurate voltage measurements. Moreover grounding facilitates the return path for fault currents. minimizing equipment damage and fire hazards. Grounding also contributes to electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) by providing a low-impedance path for unwanted currents, reducing noise and interference in electrical systems.
