Since April 2023, LK and a team of three colleagues diligently worked on a brand identity design project for the City of Vancouver, Washington. Situated on the southern edge of Washington state, Vancouver sits on the Columbia River, opposite Portland, Oregon. It is a city focused on growth, with a vibrant waterfront featuring new dining and residential options. Vancouver is committed to equity, stewardship, and resilience. We won this project through a national RFP process last spring and, after LK met with city officials, we eagerly started designing the visuals. The main requests were for a water-related icon, super legible typography, a color palette inspired by the Pacific Northwest, and comprehensive brand guidelines. We are thrilled with the outcome and extend our gratitude to everyone at the City of Vancouver who participated in this process, particularly the Communications team. On to the next city!
