Lullaby: more than a soothing song to fall asleep to ? Supporting maternal health, aiding childhood development, and strengthening the bond between parent and child: some of the important effects of the Lullaby Project. Initiated by Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute and Jacobi Medical Center, the project pairs new and expecting parents and caregivers with professional artists to write and sing personal lullabies for their babies. ? Since its inception in 2011, the Lullaby Project has helped to create approximately?3,500 lullabies, in over 20 languages, and currently has 50+ Lullaby Partners across the U.S., Canada, Chile, Colombia, Peru, UK, Spain,?Sweden, Greece, South Korea, Australia, and New Zealand. ? My Masters research topic was titled; " Lived experiences of single teenage mothers at Mtubatuba Local Municipality, KwaZulu-Natal"...This study taught me the importance of social support towards teenage mothers. They need assistance to be able to cope with the demands of motherhood. Additionally,they need to be encouraged to revive their aspirations in life by returning to school & completing their formal education. If families punish teenage mothers by forcing them to drop out of school & raise their child, it worsens that teenage girl's life. Think about it for a second; what will become of her & the child if she cannot develop herself further? What kind of future will the child have? We ought to remember that teenage pregnancy involves two children; the teenage girl and her child. Therefore, compassion & forgiveness should guide our actions in that situation.
