International Maritime Organization has set this year’s theme as ‘Navigating the future: safety first’, acting as a timely reminder that keeping our seafarers safe has to be the number one priority. Our industry is going through unprecedented transformation with new technologies and fuels changing the way we work. However, although we embrace innovation it can never be at the expense of seafarer safety. At OTG, we continually monitor new developments, regulatory changes, best practice and global trends to make sure our material reflects the latest advice. Making our training library available online, onboard and on mobile devices means that seafarers are always able to access the knowledge they require at the point of need. As we chart a course towards a decarbonised and more sustainable future we must identify the new risks to safety and do all that we can to help our maritime professionals to be ready to work safely. Day of the Seafarer ?? The Day of the Seafarer has been celebrated annually on June 25 since 2010. This year, the theme of the day is to make the maritime sector a safer place to work. Decent work is one of TT-Line's six key goals for sustainable development. For TT-Line, economic growth and sustainability go hand in hand. For economic growth to have a positive impact, it must be accompanied by decent work, which includes full productivity and a safe and inclusive working environment. Safety on board is an important issue for us. After all, a safe working environment is not only important for our crew on board, but also means a safe ferry for our passengers.?As a minimum standard, all safety measures must meet the requirements of international, regional and national safety regulations for seagoing vessels.
