We were delighted to welcome a group of Sea Cadets to our ship the European Causeway in #Larne, last week. The Sea #Cadets is a maritime youth charity that helps young people aged 10-18 to develop confidence, leadership, motivation and skills through nautical activities. The charity with 14,000 cadets all over the UK. Thanks to all our colleagues aboard European Causeway and in Larne. The feedback from the sea cadets and their parents included: “…this was an amazing opportunity for all concerned. Our cadets were shown the multiple roles that come together to ensure the safe operation of this vessel every day. Highlights include a demo of equipment to extinguish an EV fire on the vehicle?deck, a tour of the engine room and bridge and a demo of the lifeboat. (There was also lots of hot chocolate). Thank you to Paul, P&O and the CFAVs who made this possible. “Rosie had a fantastic day and was all chat when she came back (it takes a lot to get these teens chatting!!). Thanks so much for the experience.” “Great day and experience was had by all. Well done everyone involved in making this happen.” “What a great experience and opportunity for everyone. Another fantastic example of how Northern Ireland Sea Cadets can learn for their futures and options that they have. Well done all involved in organising and P&O for the opportunity.” MSSC (Marine Society & Sea Cadets)
