A Promise Yet to Be Delivered I often receive inquiries from individuals and families regarding delays in experiencing the complete benefits of the First Step Act. Although the Act's implementation commenced in December 2018, and the "good time credit" provision for early release was initiated in January 2022, it's evident that many are still awaiting access to the program's full potential. This includes the promised application of First Step Credits towards reduced probation terms, which has yet to materialize, making it a farce thus far. This Second Chance Month in April offers an opportunity to bridge the gap between legislative promises and real-world impact. Let's turn the rhetoric into reality and use this designated month to actually grant second chances to those who are waiting, rather than leaving them in limbo. After all, actions speak louder than proclamations.

Police in Seattle, Washington have started recruiting recipients of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival Status (DACA) to become cops. According to 770 KTTH, Senate Bill 6157 allows DACA recipients to apply for civil service jobs across Washington. This includes working in the police departments and fire departments. Dr C’s Ethical Standard Assessment: This is inappropriate and should be a national standard for this to be illegal. One cannot take an oath of office to God and the Constitution of the United States, when one is not a citizen of the country in which you state that very oath. Do not lower standards to hire law enforcement, increase the standard and increase the training and ensure you incorporate OBT&E into your curriculum.?

Getting the right advice when it comes to law school is vital. Not all schools give you equal outcomes and 'rushing to failure' is never wise. Taking an extra year and getting your apps optimized and choosing from schools that give you the right return on your investment is always time well spent.
A group of students and alumni of Golden Gate University are seeking a court injunction to keep the embattled San Francisco school open for the coming academic year as part of?their wider lawsuit?that aims to prevent it from closing this summer as planned. An injunction would prevent the plaintiffs from having to transfer to other schools to finish out their legal studies, their?motion?filed in San Francisco Superior Court on June 26 said. Golden Gate officials announced in late November that the university will?discontinue?its juris doctor program this summer in response to financial shortfalls resulting from enrollment declines, a sluggish employment market and low bar exam pass rates. The plaintiffs in February?sued?the university and its president David Fike for breach of contract and other claims. Read more: https://reut.rs/3zmrxGe

Keep condemning your children to debts they neither created nor consented too, and the master -slave will only be perpetuated, forever. With Respect to Socrates and all the heralded philosophers throughout history prior to the creation of first self-governing free constitutional republic, but you all failed to see the potential beyond the master-slave equation. If you are not independent, you are not free. Governments want you to be a dependent. Tyranny wants you to be a dependent. The democratic systems, you believe afford you freedom, merely perpetuate the myth for self-gain. (And when institutions of higher learning have guaranteed loans, they too, have mutual self-interests in protecting the system of deception.) Children aren't independent...
