As a business we are proud to support a number of charities, and our partnership with FareShare UK is one incredibly close to our hearts, perhaps now more than ever as it works to strengthen communities across the country. According to the Food Foundation, 23% of households with children reported experiencing food insecurity in 2023, while 88% of charities receiving food from Fareshare saw an increase in demand in 2022. We love hearing how our donations have contributed to the incredibly important work they do in supporting the work of frontline charities and community groups – and are pleased to share our impact report from the last year. In 2023, our Lactalis group of companies in the UK donated a total of 107.9 tonnes of food, received by 1,759 charities and community groups: ?? 480 working with children and young people ?? 164 working with people experiencing homelessness ?? 84 older people’s community groups ?? 34 supporting asylum seekers and refugees This means over the last seven years, together we have saved more than 600 tonnes of product from waste, helping those in need as well as the environment. And we look forward to working with the team during 2024 as we work towards our next milestone of creating 2 million meals (after we hit the 1 million meal milestone last year!).
