Applywave's new features that facilitate engagement with current students can significantly benefit schools by providing prospective students with real-time, authentic insights into campus life, while also capturing high-quality leads who are actively researching the institution. Direct interactions via WhatsApp enable quick and smooth communication, accelerating decision-making and enrollment processes. International student ambassadors are vital in recruiting international students by providing authentic and relatable insights into the student experience. As current or former international students, they offer firsthand accounts that build trust and credibility with prospective students. Their ability to share genuine stories, address cultural concerns, and communicate in multiple languages helps prospective students feel more connected and reassured about their choice to study abroad. This personalized approach enhances the recruitment process, making it more effective and engaging. AIRC | NAFSA: Association of International Educators | ICEF #edtech #Internationalstudents

There are many Universities who have a reasonable percentage of International Students as part of their student body. When sending these students out on placement, it is challenging to adequately support them when they come from quite different backgrounds and experiences. The study below highlights some of the challenges these students face in making sense of their placements in a foreign country, their concerns and some of the strategies they utilise in order to cope better. Having a good placement management tool to capture information particularly for Supervisors to better support students and add greater cultural understanding for all stakeholders would be very useful. https://lnkd.in/gdwpxnh3

???? ?????? ?????????????? ???????? ?????? ???? ???? ?????? ????, ???? ?????? ?????? ???????? (?????? ?????? ?????? ?????? ???? ???? ??????)?? Over the past 10 years, I have been working very hard to get into my dream career - a career in international organizations - and it HAS NOT BEEN EASY. Without the right guidance, I was blindly engaging in different activities *thinking* they will lead me to where I wanted to be. Some of them were a total waste of time, which is clear to me now. Reflecting back, these are the KEY factors that allowed me to get where I wanted to be. I am still at the beginning of my own journey, but have so much to share with ‘my younger self’. That’s why, apart from starting IO READY - International Organizations Ready, developing the Career Coaching Programme for IOs/NGOs and organizing networking events, ?? ???? ?????????? ???? ???????????? ?????? ???? ?????????? ???????????????? ????????????????!!!! Research careers are probably the most unstable and diverse careers of all, but the uncertainty around it doesn't necessarily need to lead to stress. If addressed well, the lack of fixed career paths can make researchers more open to opportunities beyond the obvious ones. This helps R&D companies, governments and other organisations find the talent they need. The second publication of our Mutual Learning Exercise series, inspired by the exchange in Stockholm between representatives from ministeries in Science & Innovation in over 15 European countries, focused exactly on that. Gareth O'Neill Conor O'Carroll Fulvio Esposito and Juergen Janger collaborated on this. Dario Capezzuto and Annamaria Nemeth facilitated and supported the whole process. My take home messages at the time? ?? Develop a national strategy and involve all stakeholders (universities, researchers, recruiters, science parks, international houses and employers) ?? Be consistent in funding and strategy ?? Continue to be inspired and to learn (whether you are a researcher or play a different role in the process of career development) https://lnkd.in/ec8vM_y4

"If addressed well, the lack of fixed career paths can make researchers more open to opportunities beyond the obvious ones." Both R&I companies and public administration should be eager to tap into this talent, for the benefit of us all. For R&I funding agencies: "... be consistent in funding AND strategy", especially if the funds are limited. Fund small yet targeted. Want to find out more? :

?? Life has a funny way of bringing us full circle. Today, on my way to a conference, I walked past a building I hadn't seen in 15 years. This wasn't just any building—it was the language school I attended when I was fifteen. Back then, I navigated my way with a paper map, which was a big achievement for me since I'm a terrible navigator. Even today, I can't always survive with Google Maps (as my friends and family know all too well)—I had to double-check my direction with the hotel reception this morning, even with Google Maps open! ?? Back then, I didn't feel particularly brave, but looking back, I know I was. There was no WhatsApp, no easy internet connection. I kept in touch with my friends and family by going to the internet café. ??? It's incredible to think about the time that has passed and how much has changed since then. At fifteen, I was just starting to explore the world of languages, feeling a mix of excitement and uncertainty about what lay ahead. Today, I found myself walking towards a conference just on the next street, confident in my path, yet reminded of where it all started. Moments like this make me realize how far I've come and how each step, each learning experience, leads us to the next. Seeing the building made me feel warm; the building and I were still there, as if nothing had changed, but years had passed by. Have you ever experienced a moment like this—where the past and present intersect in an unexpected way? I'd love to hear your stories. #Nostalgia #PersonalGrowth #LifeJourney #Learning #Memories
