Last week I supported Precision Technic Defence Limited at the annual Omega Sniper Symposium. The task involved designing a small network and ops room to enable live video feed and TAK integration for target location and hand off from weapon mounted and hand held thermal optics (equipped with LRF) The Persistent Systems, LLC MPU5 radio performed flawlessly in enabling MANET connectivity. With the built in video encoder it is a perfect solution for disseminating raw video product with low latency in a tactical network. Target location and handoff was possible with the Pixels on Target LLC TAK application and plug in. With the thermal sights ingesting the target data and having visual ‘slew to cue’ to aid target location. The TOC location was able to see all feeds and target engagements, SPI and PLI.
