In the last 90 days, my team and I grew our podcast downloads by 53%, social following by 42%, and social engagement by 96%. Here's how: 1. Quality > Quantity ?? Although we've only posted 4 episodes in the span of 6 months, the visual and audio components of our show made drastic improvements with each new release. In episode 1 my Co-Host, Justin Wolfe, and I recorded in front of a blank wall and our Youtube thumbnail was plain with black bars. We then switched to a more ambient setting in episode 2, but the reverb in the room distorted the audio quality. Then in episodes 3 & 4, we switched back to the original space and added some visually pleasing Studio Ghibli posters in the back and took thumbnail photos with our brand logo and episode titles layered over them. 2. Consistent & Diversified Social Rollout ??? To garner interest from loyal and first time listeners, we developed a social strategy focused on: highly informative/relatable clips from the full episode, quote graphics, and story posts driving traffic to the full episode through hyperlinks. Posts were published one by one leading up to the launch of each episode (Thursdays). 3. Influencer Marketing ?? As a semi-pro soccer player, Justin's personal brand identity has been the main driver of fans to our page. Part of his routine is his pre-game prayer, and a 15s video I took of him before the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) NorCal South Premier Final vs. Project 51O ended up being our highest performing IG post to-date, with: 2.7K views, 98 likes, and 15 shares. Mind you, this was without any collaborative posting or tagging of anyone besides Justin. 4. Word-of-Mouth ?? Whether it's sending the YouTube link to Grandma or a Spotify link to the Bay Boys group chat, SMS messaging and tapping in with our loved ones has helped get more eyes and ears on our content.
