Back in the summer of 2013, we kicked things off with nothing but a bit of?tea and a heap of compost. Our humble beginning blossomed into what you now know as Piper and Leaf Tea Company. In celebration of this 10-year achievement, we created a new blend - Blueberry Jubilee. As we enter into year 11, we wanted to share with you the behind-the-scenes story of how this blend came to be.

Welcome 2025 with a 12-grape New Year’s Eve martini December 27, 2024 at 12:03PM https://ift.tt/SPbrkXh https://ift.tt/n0GOsRz It’s the last night of the year in Mexico, a country as alive as its sunsets and as unpredictable as its fireworks. The clock ticks toward midnight, and everyone’s armed: not with champagne flutes or noisemakers, but with grapes. 12 of them, fat, green, juicy and symbolic of the year to come. How many months of good luck do you want in the new year? Try to eat that many before the bell is finished tolling. The scene looks like a surrealist painting where time and fruit collide. The New Year’s Eve grapes ritual started in Spain, some time in the early 20th century. Legend has it that a clever bunch of vineyard owners found themselves drowning in surplus grapes. Instead of composting or wine-making, they turned to marketing: eat a grape for each stroke of the clock on New Year’s Eve, they proclaimed, and you’ll ensure good fortune for the twelve months to come. The idea caught fire faster than a dried-out Christmas tree. Green grapes are right at home among sweet end-of-year treats. (Jacinta Iluch Valero/CC BY-SA 3.0) When the custom crossed the Atlantic, it nestled into the Mexican spirit like carne asada fits into a taco. After all, Mexico is a place where traditions speak louder than words, where the past and present weave together. The twelve grapes became more than a custom— they turned into a hope, a wish, a small act of defiance against the uncertainties of life. At 11:59, everyone’s ready, grapes in hand. The first bell rings out, and the mouths start moving, swallowing the months like they’re good luck charms for the soul. January goes down easy. March? A little sour. August sticks in someone’s throat, maybe predicting a heat wave or heartbreak. Loud coughing is heard on the October grape: we might have a comrade down. But by the twelfth stroke, the deed is done. When the new year arrives, shiny and full of question marks, the people of Mexico, Spain or anyone who is inclined to take on this vineyard challenge, welcome it with sticky fingers and hopeful hearts. 12-grape martini: A sophisticated celebration Ingredients 12 green grapes 2 oz vodka 1 oz elderflower liqueur 1 oz Lillet Blanc ? oz freshly squeezed lemon juice Ice cubes Toothpicks for garnish Instructions Thread 12 green grapes onto a cocktail skewer or toothpicks in groups of three or four, depending on the size.? In a cocktail shaker, combine vodka, elderflower liqueur, Lillet Blanc and lemon juice. Fill the shaker with ice. Shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds to ensure everything is well chilled and combined. Double strain the mixture into a chilled martini glass to achieve a smooth texture. Place the skewered grapes over the rim of the glass or let them rest elegantly on the side as an edible decoration. For an extra aromatic touch, lightly express the oil from a lemon peel over the drink before garnishing.? This...

Words that JancisRobinson.com dislikes... and I have to agree... Witnessing the wisdom of Jancis at Women In Wine LDN at Vintners Hall on Tuesday night was a beautifully grounding experience. She maintains her position as a 'parasite' on the wine industry, having never directly worked in it, but as such reaps the benefit of a wider lens with which to view it. A bug-bear she raised was the use of overly flamboyant language used in tasting notes and wine lexicon (did you know the brain can only register about 4 flavours at a time?) Show-offy lists of flavours that serve mostly as an English language exercise, not a helpful piece on wine. She uses her knowledge to make wine more understandable, not less. Encourages us in the trade to 'assertive, not strident' in our views and communication, and most importantly, to be kind. What a gal. Her top picks, all too frequently seen in wine reviews or tasting notes, are these the most poncy words in wine today..? - CURATED - I'm sorry, do you work in a museum? - PASSION - possibly one of the most overused words of the decade, in every discipline. So easy to roll out with no qualification. In the words of someone wiser than me, true 'passion' is ORIGIN, MISSION, & VISION aligned and delivered. - SALINE - an upcoming replacement for the perennially difficult 'mineral'? - LIMITED EDITION - like every other wine is unlimited? - 'GENTLY' PRESSED - puhleease.. As wine correspondent for the FT for over 30 years, she is certainly a woman who can take the long view when it comes to how we communicate about wine. I hope she keeps her sensible, informed, no-nonsense style as long as they are lucky enough to have her. In her own words, 'When they ask me to move, I'll move'. No one is gonna be asking you to move, Jancis. #livinglegend #jancisrobinson #vintnershall #womeninwine #womeninwineLDN #languagebarrier

At Shroom Sabha, we had the unique chance to immerse participants in the world of functional mushrooms and mindful practices, showing how these natural allies can support well-being in a way that’s both energizing and grounding. Here’s how the experience unfolded: ? ?????????????????????? ???????????????? ???????? ???????????????????? ????????????????: We thoughtfully paired our mushroom extracts with each experience to create moments of balance and vitality. Meditation sessions were enhanced with calming Reishi infusions; Lion's Mane + Coffee Kombucha energized post-lunch sessions, keeping participants alert and engaged; and after the foraging walk, a revitalizing Cordyceps + Grapefruit Kombucha (both Kombuchas crafted with our friends from Auora Kombucha) helped everyone recharge from within. ? ???????????????? ???? ?????? ?????????? ???? ???????????????????? ??????????????????: In an interactive workshop, we delved into scientific studies that reveal how functional mushrooms can support both mind and body. Together, we explored ways these mushrooms impact physiological processes, offering participants practical ways to gauge how these extracts might support their personal wellness goals. ? ?????????????????? ???????????????? ??????????????????: Led by Rishi Solanki from On The Move, we combined movement and wellness practices with specific extracts, showing participants how to amplify both their physical practices and the mushroom extracts’ benefits. These practical pairings became actionable steps for real-world wellness. ? ???????????????? ???????????????? ???? ???????? ???????? ?????? “?????????????????? ???? ??????” ??????????: Our guidebook added a rich dimension to the foraging walk, with facts, spore print activities, and specimen sketching, helping participants connect with the natural environment on a deeper level. Shroom Sabha is redefining what it means to have fun—a day in nature, learning about the world of fungi, and exploring how to feel more vibrant in daily life. Sounds like something you’d enjoy? Nuvedo at?Shroom Sabha 2024: ??? Shroom Sabha this year was pure magic—people naturally came together, connections grew stronger, and the sense of community just blossomed, like the mycelium beneath our feet. From the calming Reishi Tea Ceremony to foraging adventures with the URU field guide, every moment brought us closer. It was so great seeing everyone enjoy our special kombucha flavors, made with Cordyceps and Lion’s Mane extracts in collaboration with?Auora Kombucha, and tasting our mushroom extracts throughout the festival. The space felt #warm and #safe, and by the end of it, we had this amazing, thriving community. That’s the magic of Shroom Sabha, and we’re so happy to have been a part of it. ????

A recent study by McKinsey found that the average life-span of companies listed in Standard & Poor's 500 was 61 years in 1958. Today, it is less than 18 years, with nearly 50% failing in the first 5 years…jumping to 80% before year 20. Today Property Masters Inc celebrated our 20th year in business (6/14/2004) with a little party @ our HQ!!! ?? The rest of the team was there in spirit! There have been many highs and lows, but over the years we have learned how to turn our disappointments into opportunities to improve, and those improvements into wins for our trusted partners & clients. With each year we’ve gotten stronger, smarter, and more determined to surpass the higher goals we set for ourselves. It hasn’t ever been easy, but nothing worth having ever is. ?? I’m so proud of my amazing team of colleagues and what we’ve built together. Whether you’re at year 1 or been along on the ride for all 20, this celebration belongs to you! To our amazing clients & trusted partners and vendors…THANK YOU doesn’t seem like enough!! We owe this all to you & couldn’t have gotten this far without your support! You all are the real MVPs!!! ?? Anyone can swing a hammer, but they won’t succeed at scale and longterm without being made up of a group of people that put the value in the team over the individual. Our culture is second to none, and for that reason… and about a dozen or so others… I have no doubt that we will be celebrating these milestones for years to come! Cheers to 20 years guys! ?????? #propertymasters #greendiamondservice #construction #sfrturns #shinebrightlikeadiamond #sfrrenovations #reorenovations ??
Excited to celebrate our 20 year anniversary tomorrow! Our amazing team at headquarters took some time this afternoon to come together and reflect on our incredible journey. The Art of Timing: Vintage vs. Non-Vintage In Champagne, a vintage year isn’t declared annually—it’s reserved for the truly exceptional seasons when the conditions align to create something rare and memorable. For the rest of the time, winemakers skillfully blend multiple years, creating consistently beautiful non-vintage champagne. In business, timing is equally critical. Knowing when to wait for the perfect moment and when to blend experience with innovation to create something steady and valuable is an art. Cheers to making each decision with purpose, patience, and a touch of strategy. #BusinessWisdom #TimingIsEverything #ArtOfDecisionMaking

This #WorldMeadDay why not celebrate the history of mead with Bemuse and our partner DRYDRINKER LTD ?? Mead, often referred to as the "drink of the gods," has a rich and ancient history dating back thousands of years. Believed to be one of the oldest alcoholic beverages, mead is made by fermenting honey with water and sometimes various fruits, spices, grains, or hops. Its origins can be traced to early civilizations across Europe, Africa, and Asia, where it was revered in various cultures and often associated with rituals and ceremonies. In ancient Greece, it was celebrated as a divine drink favoured by the gods and featured in numerous myths and legends. Norse mythology also holds mead in high esteem, with tales of the "mead of poetry" bestowing wisdom and poetic inspiration. During the medieval period, mead was a staple at feasts and banquets across Europe, especially in the British Isles and Scandinavia. Despite its decline in popularity with the advent of beer and wine, mead has experienced a resurgence in recent years (which we are thrilled to be a part of), with craft meaderies reviving traditional recipes and creating innovative new flavours. This timeless beverage continues to enchant and inspire, connecting modern drinkers with an ancient heritage. ?? Our refreshing, non-alcoholic, low calorie, sparkling mead is an extremely versatile offering. Now in newly designed cans, and bottle form, Bemuse’ growing range works for on the go, celebrations, quiet nights in, and cocktail creation. ?? Choosing one other product from the ‘best of the best’ selection of non-alcoholic drinks on the market at Dry Drinker our co-founder Anna mixed Bemuse Pomona with Pentire Coastal Spirit to make a wonderful mead based creation - 'Meadow Sunset'. Fancy giving it a try? Meadow Sunset ?? 100ml Bemuse Pomona 50ml Pentire Coastal Spritz Wine glass Ice Why not take a look at all of the options over at www.drydrinker.com and craft your own Meadow Sunset, or simply enjoy Bemuse on its own? #Mead #HoneyMead #AlcoholFreeMead #WorldMeadDay2024

Since it’s #NationalSparklingWineWeek, let's dive into the art of riddling, a crucial and unique step in the traditional Champagne method. ?? Riddling, or "remuage," involves gently rotating and tilting bottles of sparkling wine over several weeks to collect lees in the neck. Lees are the dead yeast cells left over from fermentation, and they impact the sparkling wine by adding depth, richness, and a creamy texture, enhancing the overall complexity and giving it that signature, luxurious mouthfeel. However, to achieve clarity, the lees must eventually be removed via disgorgement, the process of expelling the lees from the neck of the bottle. Both riddling and disgorgement can be done by hand or by machine, but either way, the processes are complex and intricate. In our professional lives, riddling teaches us the importance of persistence and precision. Just like those bottles being adjusted a quarter turn at a time, our careers and leadership journeys often require us to refine our skills and strategies. By paying attention to the small details and making incremental corrections, we can achieve clarity and excellence. Greatness often lies in the details. Like a perfectly riddled bottle of champagne, your success is a blend of patience, dedication, and a little bit of sparkle. ? Cheers to celebrating the magical bubbles we create along the way! ?? When you’re opening a bottle to celebrate, what’s your go-to sparkling wine? I’d love to read about your faves in the comments. #SparklingWineWeek #ChampagneMethod #Riddling #CelebrateSuccess #winewednesday ******************** Like this post? Want to see more? ?? And usually with a healthy dose of ??! ??#ImpactLeadership ??Meaningful #CareerDevelopment ??Authentically #ConfidentCommunication

During weekend gatherings where friends and family come together, discussions about American traditions often lead to one fun question: "What's the most quintessentially American drink to enjoy over the weekend?" As the group debates, someone might lean back with a bourbon, another might champion Budweiser despite its German origins, and another may find solace in a glass of White Zinfandel. Among these diverse choices, if we explore the roots of America's beverage history, Applejack shines through, particularly Laird’s Applejack, with its rich narrative dating back to 1698 as the nation's first commercial distillery. This isn't just about promoting a brand; it's about honoring a legacy that includes figures like Abraham Lincoln, who reportedly served Laird’s in his tavern. In our commitment to celebrating such heritage, Yardii Distillery is excited to announce that our JARDII Golden Apple Brandy, inspired by this tradition yet distinct in its craftsmanship and taste, will be coming to the USA. This new addition aims to blend the historical essence of apple brandy with a modern twist, perfect for any weekend occasion. Today, while Laird's continues to embody the spirit of American history with its classic Applejack, at Yardii, we strive to contribute to this legacy with our JARDII Golden Apple Brandy, ensuring that the spirit of innovation and tradition lives on in every bottle. As you reflect on what symbolizes the American spirit, consider enhancing your experience with a taste of JARDII Golden Apple Brandy, soon to grace the shelves in the USA. It’s more than just a beverage; it’s a continuation of a storied American tradition.

Sweet I Beauty 14 I Red Wine Beauty extends beyond the visual, reaching into the depths of a beautiful soul. In a similar vein, Wine embodies beauty through its specific wine color which is more than a simple visual characteristic; good for health and beauty treatment and it's a cultural emblem that sparks celebrations, romance, relaxation, and connections. The allure of wine, for me, lies in its RED COLOR. From ruby to garnet to tawny, each hue narrates a distinctive story, reflecting the wine's body, style, flavors, and age. Red wine's color symbolizes passion and intensity universally, carrying rich cultural meanings worldwide. The shades of red wine offer a glimpse into its character: a purple tint hints at youthfulness and freshness, while ruby tones suggest intensity with black fruit and spice notes. Moving into warmer colors like garnet and tawny indicates age and complexity, with flavors evolving into a blend of fruit, savory notes, nuts, and spices. A tawny hue signifies extensive aging, resulting in a smooth and creamy texture. Incorporating red wine's symbolic significance enhances its allure, reflecting passion and love in Western World, lucky in some Asian countries. Red wine has long been used in celebrations such as ?weddings, anniversaries, and birthdays, because it represents joy, unity, and shared happiness. It is used in Traditional Harvest Festivals to celebrate the end of a year’s hard labor and express gratitude for a bountiful crop. Red wine is a cultural icon that crosses boundaries and languages. Sharing bottles of red wine in small gatherings, formal events, strengthens bonds, ignites conversations, and generates lasting memories. It represents conviviality, hospitality, and a love of life’s joys and brings people closer together Reference: - https://lnkd.in/gCrZGSJJ - https://lnkd.in/gAMCn-sG - https://lnkd.in/gjaiUrji - https://lnkd.in/ggCwKcSa -------------------------- #MagicLife #Beauty #Wine #Color #Passion #Culture #AI
