CEO’s come in many different sizes and shapes, different academic backgrounds, different areas of industry, and there are many different types of personalities. No “one size fits all”! But you will find there are some characteristics that are most common with the truly great ones. 1. Creating a culture that promotes integrity, innovation and healthy risk taking 2. Creating a strong team that is collaborative and passionate about their work and their work environment 3. Be prepared for change because it will occur and it could be very disruptive to your existing model….don’t fight it, embrace it 4. Invest in training and education of your staff and leadership team. The world is not stagnant and it is the best way to be prepared for the changes that will occur. 5. Listen to your people. Just because you are the CEO it doesn’t mean that you are always right and are the smartest person in the room. ? These are just a few of the characteristics of a great CEO that come to mind.
