From most coherent, to least, there will be a string of Portfolio related posts hence forth: This post, is the remnants of the scripting I did for my MQTT drone. The video has been posted on my page - however I just did not post the code whatsoever. I do not intend anyone to use this, however if you want to reformat it - go ahead! https://lnkd.in/erHYVdT8

Happy to share that I have obtained the DroneDeploy Pilot Certification after completing the 5 required courses : - Zero to Hero - Aerial Capture - Understanding Aerial Accuracy - Aerial Surveying with DroneDeploy - Safe & Standard Operations The courses provided comprehensive information on safe and effective data collection using DroneDeploy automated flight software. From corridor mapping to 3D enhanced mapping, GCPs and RTK/PPK use. Definitely a good refresher and made me really hungry to deep dive again into the world of photogrammetry.

Andreas Wang?rd and I are currently working on a proposition for implementing safe drone operations within urban areas. We are experimenting with Voronoi diagrams to divide the airspace into elementary cells. These cells are strategically placed at specific locations such as vertiports, sensitive areas, buildings, as well as zones where emergency landings can be safely executed. The cells can be categorized as either operational or closed depending on the conditions of the geozones involved. The upper left figure illustrates geozones (yellow), geofences (red), and zones where safe emergency landings are possible (green). The bottom left figure demonstrates why Voronoi diagrams can be advantageous for trajectory planning. With numerous small elementary cells, the airspace can be dynamically updated, merging smaller cells into larger ones to accommodate the demand/density of the airspace. The right-hand figure provides an example of different geozones within urban areas. The left figures are taken from "An Integrated Approach for On-Demand Dynamic Capacity Management Service in U-Space" written by Yiwen Tang, Yan Xu, and Gokhan Inalhan. The right figure is sourced from EASA. Our supervisor, Raffaello Mariani, is guiding our research in this endeavor.

?? "A Point of Interest (POI) can be as simple as a set of coordinates and an identifier, or more complex such as a three-dimensional model of a building with names in various languages, information about open and closed hours, and a civic address." - this is the abstract proposition of The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) on the new POI standard definition, which is available for review and comment. ?? Definition of standards are relevant to establish common grounds for development and interoperability, where we all actors use the same words with the same meaning. In its broadest definition, a POI can be a location about which information of general interest is available. But in order to have a sound standard, more needs to be defined, like conformance with other standards already used, conventions adopted either on concepts or on notation used in the definition, different abstraction layers used for increasing levels of detail on the information to record, implementation guidelines and test cases or test methodology to adhere, and much more. ?? One way of collecting data for those Points of Interest is via drone flights, as we do at Digital Twins, providing complementary orthofotos and terrain models. ?? You can provide your contribution following this link https://lnkd.in/gVbwTbxX ?? All drone flights for Digital Twins are performed by a certified pilot, so we always minimize risk for people, constructions, and vehicles. Safety first! #OGC #POI #PointOfInterest #4Dplus #DEM #standard #orthofoto #terrainmodel #dronepilot #flight #datacollection
