VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE: 1.) TSU - I participated in Teens Speak Up with The Epilepsy Foundation to speak to congresspeople about upcoming issues that would effect the population of people with Epilepsy. 2.) AWARENESS - I coordinated an Epilepsy awareness volleyball game at Chapel Hill High School that raised money for The Epilepsy Foundation. We raised over $6000! 3) COACHING - I volunteered as a coach for younger kids learning to play volleyball. I taught the fundamentals to those aspiring to learn the sport I love the most.

BGCGW’s GREAT BIG KID mentor/mentee program takes flight. Whether it’s flying kites, attending baseball games, or simply helping with homework, BGCGW volunteers all over the DMV are stepping up and mobilizing to make a difference. While the six-week mentorship activity is a fundraiser--each team competing to raise BGC awareness and donations--each group reaps the biproduct of bonding that can last a lifetime. “Even though the Great Big Kid ended, we still keep in contact," said 2023 Great Big Kid participant, Malachi. “Being a part of the events he’s taken me to really make me feel important and I get to bring that back here to the Club for others to see what I’ve learned.” #GreatFuturesStartHere #mentorship #mentor #mentee
