With 7+ experience in the tech industry, I've come to realize there was 1 question that differentiates the good startups vs the bad. I would even argue that this is a great question in a software / technical interview to ask your employer as well. Every great startup/company that I've ever worked for had 1 magic recipe.
"Eat your own Dogfood."
In laymen's terms, "Is your own team using your software?"
If not, then why would you think you can sell it to other people if your own team doesn't understand and use the product.
This was what made me believe in myself and start the jump to start the Grandline. I wasn't the best developer neither was I the best salesman, but I have a very direct and clear intuition on knowing whether or not a piece of technology "worked" for people within a few seconds of playing with it.
From my experience, typically engineering frustrations in organizations really started with a lack of internal people using the product and being honest about whether or not the tech was "simple" enough that someone that was non-technical can understand it.
At the Grandline, we're slowly but surely keeping ourselves honest about what works and what doesn't, look at this 12 second video that my co-founder shared with me this morning and let me know if this makes intuitive sense to you.
Take a sneak peek of what's possible at the Grandline in just less than 2 weeks. Here's a quick demo of what's possible.
