For 20 years, the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) has brought key stakeholders together to transform the global palm oil sector. All have been inspired by a shared vision of a sustainable industry that benefits people, safeguards the planet, and promotes prosperity for rural communities worldwide. ? P&G supports #RSPO because we share their commitment to sustainable palm, sustainably sourced, and believe in the significant progress they have helped realize over the past two decades, including: ? ? Conserving over 360,000 hectares to date under RSPO Principles and Criteria Certification ? Remediating more than 100,000 hectares of land, and ? Improving the lives of over half a million workers in the global palm oil industry under the RSPO certification system. ? Through the P&G Center for Sustainable Small-owners, at the ASB, more than 400 #smallholder farmers have achieved the internationally recognized RSPO Independent Smallholder Certification (RISS), with a further 400 #smallholders anticipated to earn this certification by the end of 2025. ?? ? With the realization that shared challenges are often best handled by working together, we are excited to help continue building on RSPO’s progress to drive a more sustainable future. ?? I am glad to have completed the CSRD and Double Materiality 2-day training with CAP conseil. It was very insightful to delve into the various steps of a double materiality assessment through case studies, examples, tips, and rich discussions with the Cap Conseil Team (Veronique Graham, Anne-Catherine Trinon) and the other participants. Deborah Fischer from RSM provided excellent insights on the European Taxonomy and its role alongside the CSRD and Claire Lheureux led a workshop on Responsible communication. I now feel better equipped to drive a double materiality assessment process and understand what is behind it. This knowledge enables me to help clients move beyond reporting compliance to build competitive differentiation, fostering more sustainable and resilient businesses. To better integrate their business, marketing and sustainability strategies, I recommend Businesses to understand the interplay between their ESG impact and opportunity areas with the drivers of the business and customer needs. They should pursue and exploit “sweet spots” where sustainability and business drivers reinforce each other. For example, better-cultivated food ingredients can enhance taste or nutritional profiles, and leading in ESG topics or carbon reduction can support customers with their scope 3 reduction targets. Material ESG Topics without much customer relevance should be addressed but no need to make noise about them. And when ESG improvements seemingly weaken the business model (such as by significantly increasing ?costs or reducing performance) , a real business debate and deeper reflection should take place looking taking both a short term and a longer term perspective and investigating the opportunities to act at a X-Company / sector level. Working closely with our suppliers to cascade climate action throughout the supply chain is important for us, and the planet. We’re proud our work has been recognized by global environmental non-profit CDP who has named us on its latest Supplier Engagement Leaderboard.? CDP’s Leaderboard is based on a Supplier Engagement Rating (SER) which focuses on climate-related issues, evaluating a company’s emissions across its value chain (scope 3 emissions), the strength of its governance, the rigor of its environmental targets, and its supplier engagement strategies. “We’re very proud to have our long-term commitment to engaging with our suppliers on climate action recognized in this way,” says Elena Breda, our Chief Technology & Sustainability Officer. “It also complements our A score from CDP for our work on climate, and A-- for water that we received earlier this year.” "It's great to receive this recognition.
