Examples of a stop work order. A stop work order should be used when there is a risk of injury or death. Here are some real-world examples of when you should use stop-work authority and the actions that should follow. ? No PPE before using a grinder: Stop work and provide the necessary PPE. ? Uncertainty about safe unloading area: Stop work, exit the vehicle, and perform a 360-degree walkaround. ? Damaged ladder in use: Stop work, notify the employee, and tag the ladder out of service. ? Operating Equipment Without Seatbelt or Harness: Stop work and remind the operator of the safety requirements. ? Improper lifting technique: Stop work and guide the employee on proper lifting techniques. ? Moving equipment around a blind corner without a spotter: Stop work and assist as a spotter. ? Improperly secured load: Stop work and help secure the load; proceed only once everyone agrees it's safe. Thank you for participating in Safe + Sound Week 2024. Together, we can create a safer, healthier work environment for everyone. Stay vigilant, stay safe! #SafeAndSoundAtWork #SpeakUpForSafety

?? June is National Safety Month! ?? At Workbox Staffing, we prioritize your safety every day. Hand injuries are among the most common workplace accidents, and understanding their causes can help us prevent them. Here are the top 5 causes of hand injuries: ?? 1. Pinch Points – Areas where two objects come together can trap your hands, leading to serious injuries. Always be aware of pinch points and keep your hands clear. ?? 2. Sharp Objects – Cuts from knives, blades, and other sharp objects are common. Use proper tools and cut-resistant gloves to protect yourself. ?? 3. Defective Equipment – Faulty machinery and tools can fail unexpectedly, causing injuries. Regularly inspect and maintain all equipment to ensure it's in good working condition. ?? 4. Trips and Falls – Falls can result in hand injuries as you instinctively try to break your fall. Keep your work area tidy and watch out for trip hazards. ?? 5. The 5S methodology is a systematic approach to workplace organization and standardization. Each "S" represents a different step: 1??Sort (Seiri): Separate necessary items from unnecessary ones and remove what's not needed. 2??Set in Order (Seiton): Arrange necessary items in a logical and efficient manner, making them easy to find and use. 3??Shine (Seiso): Clean the workspace thoroughly to maintain cleanliness and identify any abnormalities. 4??Standardize (Seiketsu): Establish and maintain standardized procedures and practices to sustain the improvements made in the previous steps. 5??Sustain (Shitsuke): Continuously reinforce the 5S principles through training, audits, and regular maintenance to ensure long-term success. Implementing the 5S methodology helps improve organization, efficiency, safety, and morale in the workplace.

?? Eye Safety Matters: Protecting Your Vision at Work Continuing with our #ConstructionSafetyWeek here at Premier Mechanical, Inc. Did you know that almost all eye injuries are preventable? Your eyes are not just windows to the world; they are your primary means of perception, responsible for up to 80% of all impressions. Preserving and protecting them isn't just about seeing clearly—it's about safeguarding yourself from danger and enjoying a fuller life. Yet, despite this critical importance, workplace eye injuries send a staggering 300,000 people to the emergency room each year nationwide. What's even more alarming is that 90% of these injuries could have been avoided if the workers had been wearing appropriate eye protection. That's 270,000 injuries that could be prevented annually. Consider these eye-opening injury statistics: Eye injuries constitute nearly 45% of all head injuries resulting in missed workdays. The financial toll of eye injuries amounts to an estimated annual $300 million in medical expenses, compensation, and lost productivity. Men aged 25-44 make up 80% of all workplace eye injury victims. Manufacturing, construction, and mining industries collectively account for 40% of on-the-job eye injuries. Protecting your vision isn't just about compliance—it's about safeguarding your most valuable asset. Let's prioritize eye safety in the workplace to prevent unnecessary injuries and ensure a healthier, more productive workforce. #EyeSafety #ConstructionSafetyWeek #PreventionIsKey ?????
