?? How We Can Help Rosebud Continuum Rebuild After Hurricane Milton ?? Like many in the Pasco County community, ROSEBUD CONTINUUM was hit hard by Hurricane Milton. In addition to the loss of 20 trees, their 2,500-square-foot greenhouse was completely destroyed. Despite the challenges, their commitment to sustainability education and community engagement remains as strong as ever. ?? What Makes Rosebud Special: Rosebud Continuum is a beacon of innovation in sustainability education, with composting stations like: Biodigesters for turning food waste into energy. Compost Barrels for creating nutrient-rich soil. Textile Composting to repurpose old fabrics. ?? How You Can Help: Rosebud has launched a GoFundMe to rebuild and restore its facilities. Contributions will go toward clearing debris, rebuilding the greenhouse, and restoring their educational programs. Let’s help this amazing organization get back to what it does best: teaching the world how small, sustainable actions can make a huge difference. ?? #Sustainability #MakeCompostingMainstream #CommunitySupport #30C

We need wildfire reform and better forest management practices in BC. The McDougall Creek fire did not need to happen; excess red tape & bureaucracy, unwillingness to work with local experts, and mismanagement is what caused the fire to get out of control. Wildfires need to be put out rapidly and forests need to be managed effectively. An incredible group of locals, including several Registered Professional Foresters, are looking to make a documentary highlighting how we can turn the dial and bring health and prosperity back to our forest and prevent wildfires from devastating our province. It's about the environment, preservation, sustainability, and even economic stability. For our forests, and for our future. Please watch this trailer and consider donating to make this vision a reality! https://lnkd.in/gzUs6EWu

Our whole hearts are with Los Angeles and Southern California as they continue to fight unprecedented wildfires. These fires account for 80% of the reforestation needs National Forest Foundation addresses, which underscores the urgent need for restoration. This increased urgency has deepened our commitment to supporting NFF through our Planting Hope for Tomorrow Fundraiser, knowing a significant portion of the funds raised will help NFF’s efforts to replant trees in national forests within the LA region and beyond. Working with the U.S. Forest Service, NFF focuses on restoring landscapes that burn at such high intensities that they cannot regenerate naturally. ?? Every $1 plants a tree, directly aiding recovery in areas that need it most. In partnership with the Harvard Extension School Global Development Practice Student Society and the Harvard Extension School Sustainability Student Club (HES3C) we’re proud to support these vital restoration efforts. ?? The will to respond to disasters is not sufficient. Inspiring community-led organizations FUNDICCEP, MOPAWI, and Asociacion Agroforestal Brisas del Lago, have focused on preparation and resilience through strategic partnerships, including the Partnership for Disaster Recovery and Resilience (PDRR), a co-funding alliance led by the Inter-American Foundation in partnership with the Climate and Land Use Alliance, Ford Foundation, International Community Foundation, Tinker Foundation, The Philanthropic Initiative (TPI) and individual philanthropists. Through small grants, the Partnership supports strong civil society organizations that build community resilience, mitigate the impacts of extreme weather and climate, and strengthen economic, civic, and social ties among community members. The Partnership also promotes capacity building, knowledge exchanges, and peer-to-peer learning among organizations experienced in recovering from and preparing for natural disasters. #CADF2024 #Resilience #Disasters

Our Pippa made a commitment at the beginning of 2024 to plant a tree for every bid we have helped our clients to win, so today she has made 32 sapling donations to the National Trust. 32 wins - from Term Maintenance Contracts, major airfields, and surfacing frameworks, to footpath surfacing schemes, public realm projects, and water contracts, each one has enabled our clients to keep their teams employed, grow their businesses, and make the difference they want in the world. That makes us very proud ?? And now, we are doing our small bit help the National Trust to plant and establish 20 million trees by 2030. Trees are essential for life. They clean the air we breathe, lock up carbon as they grow and provide homes for wildlife. Trees are one of our best natural defences against climate change, which is having a devastating impact on places where people and nature can thrive. The National Trust predicts that planting and establishing 20 million trees will, at their peak, store around 300,000 tonnes of carbon a year.? We must plan for the future of woodlands, parklands and orchards so we can tackle the nature and climate crises together. Help them to plant more trees today and support life for years to come - click here to make your own donation - https://lnkd.in/eSfquqQS

Imagine a future where Australia's ecosystems thrive once more! ?? About 50% of our eucalypt forests have been lost to land clearing for agriculture, but through the Landscape Resilience Program, we're fighting to bring them back by restoring vital habitats by uniting public, private, and government efforts. As Mark, FNPW's Chief Program Officer reminds us, "It might take 200 years to repair some of the damage, but we've got to start somewhere." With every tree donated, you're reviving vital habitats. Join us on a bold journey: plant 8 Million Trees by 2030 and establish 100 community nurseries, building on our success of 1 million trees and 30 nurseries in just three years. Your support can spark real change—donate today and help restore Australia's landscapes.

I am proud to serve on the Board of Heal the Bay, a non-profit organization that safeguards Los Angeles' beaches and coastal waters. Heal the Bay recently released its annual Beach Report Card for 2023-2024. This comprehensive report ranks beaches across California with a letter grade from A through F, based on the amount of harmful bacteria detected in the water. The full report is available on Heal the Bay's website: Heal the Bay Beach Report Card. The report assesses 700 Pacific Coast beaches from Washington to Baja. This year, we saw an overall decline in water quality across the state, primarily due to winter storm runoffs. However, there is good news: 90% of California beaches received A or B scores for water quality. Southern California beaches (Santa Barbara to San Diego counties) achieved 90% A or B grades in the summer. Similarly, NorCal beaches (Del Norte to Marin counties) earned 90% A or B summer grades, while Central California beaches (San Francisco to San Luis Obispo counties) notched 84% A or B marks. It’s an honor to be part of an organization that plays such a crucial role in protecting our coastal environment. Let's continue to work together to keep our beaches clean and safe for everyone to enjoy. #HealTheBay #BeachReportCard #EnvironmentalProtection #LosAngeles #CleanBeaches
