Improves your credibility 2. Achieve greater recognition as a HR professional 3. Opens the door for internal development Some ways to manage DEI: 1. Benchmark data to gauge company targets 2. Go big on Employee Resource Groups and Talent Development Programs 3. NCI-SHRM November Meeting Our next North Central Indiana SHRM chapter meeting will be in-person on Thursday, November 21st at 11:15 a.m. in the Crystal Room (downstairs) at the Honeywell Center in Wabash.?We will meet for a buffet style lunch, networking and education until approximately 1:00 PM.?The cost is $15 per person for members and $20 per person for non-members. Our guest speaker will be Julio Cruz with Synergy Consulting Group.?Julio will be speaking on the topic – “Holistic Hiring: Embracing Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging.”?The objectives of this training session are to equip HR professionals and leaders with tools for holistic, unbiased recruitment and hiring; to understand the importance of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging in the workplace; and to address blind spots and unconscious bias in the hiring process.

At last week’s YMCA of Greater Louisville’s Emerging Leaders Conference, I shared how important it is for leaders to understand the “Holy Trinity of Employment” that serves as the root of happiness for all employees. The Holy Trinity of Employment is: 1. An employee who likes what they do 2. They like who they do it with 3. They get paid pretty good to do it That essentially means that if an employee (1) has a passion for what they do, (2) operates in a healthy work culture and (3) makes a livable wage… they will more than likely self identify as a happy employee. That means if you are a leader of people in a work setting, you should make it priority to understand these principles and build a culture that embraces the Holy Trinity of Employment.
