Something you don't hear mentioned much about the effects of MDMA: in humans, there are reports of MDMA enhancing emotional empathy in males, but not females. In mice, something similar is observed: MDMA enhances a form of empathy-like behavior (social transfer of pain) in males, but not females. Even more interesting: the above result itself depends on the sex of the human who conducts the experiment! New study on arm position and blood pressure (BP) results. Best position: Arm laying on a surface. American Heart Association guidelines include: ??feet flat on floor and back supported ??avoid caffeine, smoking and exercise at least 30 minutes before measuring BP ??cuff should be at mid-heart level I am sharing this study to make sure our BP readings are accurate and the diagnosis of Hypertension is valid. As a NICU nurse, I see BP results charted that are very unlikely. ??make sure proper size cuff on baby ??no kinks in tubing ??ask does the values even make sense?
