The Campaign continues to be at the forefront of amplifying student-centered strategies that advance equal college opportunity. Today, we are proud to share our latest brief on how universities can build welcoming campus environments.??We are also uplifting three student spotlights that underscore the importance of racial and gender equity in campus hiring practices.?These resources come at a pivotal time?as colleges and universities are seeing drops in particularly Black and Latinx student enrollment as a result of the Supreme Court decision curtailing the use of race conscious admissions.?The strategies outlined in the brief should issue a clarion call for higher education leaders and policymakers: we can cut through the noise that?SFFA?has created for historically underserved students by building campus environments that invite, affirm, and support their place.

This year at Oak National Academy, we’ve been releasing a brand new curriculum for secondary history with our expert partners Future Academies. With the curriculum nearly fully resourced, let’s explore the resource I’m MOST proud of…?? ?? The British Empire: how far was it transformed in the mid-nineteenth century? These new resources for secondary history teachers have been carefully planned and produced. Here are three reasons why I think they’re unmissable: With a clear focus and attention to detail, they tackle a subject that is sometimes dealt with superficially: the mid-nineteenth century British Empire. They deal with a difficult, yet fundamental issue in Britain’s past. Historians such as David Olusoga have warned school leaders about the danger of teaching a dishonest version of the past. These resources seek to do the opposite. The resources are shaped around an enquiry question investigating the extent of change to the British Empire during the nineteenth century. From article: "CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - The Charleston County School Board voted to approve an honors African American Studies course following the state’s decision to remove it. The Charleston County School District’s Board of Trustees voted Thursday to approve the locally designed African American Studies Elective Course. The curriculum would be structured as an honors course and would count as one of students’ elective credits. In June, the state Department of Education decided to leave AP African American Studies off its 2024-2025 school year course roster, meaning students will not be able to receive college credit for the course like with other Advanced Placement courses. The decision came after two years of South Carolina offering AP African American Studies in some public schools as a pilot program. The agency said the reason for its removal was because of the controversy surrounding the course. History is made in our lifetime, 2024 year to remember!!! This is a historic moment as the UN General Assembly demonstrated the power of democratic action through an important vote standing against oppression. While abstentions and objections remain, the will of most members was made clear. Moving forward, continued dialogue and relationship-building are needed. All leaders must represent the interests and values of citizens, especially concerning humanitarian crises. Where representation falls short, democratic processes offer hope. For those discouraged by some decisions, remember that many good people stand for dignity and human rights. Students, workers and conscientious voices globally affirm our shared humanity. Through respectful civic participation, understanding can grow. Citizens everywhere desire peace, justice and safety for their families. With open communication and by addressing real concerns, communities of shared interest can be strengthened. Governments answering first to principles of human rights, the rule of law and people's well-being offer the surest path. Together, by emphasizing our common hopes over temporary divisions, a better future can be shaped. With courage and compassion, we can build the more inclusive world security we all wish to inhabit. This vision of cooperation, not retaliation, best ensures protection for generations to come. Dear USA citizens, European citizens, African citizens, Australians, Asia, Caribbeans, the Middle East, South Americans, and world citizens for ant-genocide please election time is coming, that is when we show them our power. We need to vote everybody complicit to this genocide out and make a new world order, where we show no more war but humanity first. Remember every vote counts. Peace and love conquer every adversity!
