?? New research alert! Ankush Kapoor, a doctoral student at UNSW, supervised by A/Prof. Susann Beier and Prof. Tapabrata Ray, has crafted two innovative 3D parameterisation methods for contemporary coronary stents. Introducing unique uncertainty-based optimisation algorithms, the method includes as many as 18 design variables, offering a thorough strategy for grasping intricate stent structures for the first time. A free-use automated stent structure creator has been launched to assist other researchers in advancing on this and to further develop better stent structures. This research opens the door for creating advanced stent designs towards improved treatment results, safer stents and more efficient designs for clinical use. Read the paper: https://lnkd.in/gmp-9P_T

It was great today to present at the #IDEAL conference. So good to catch up with Peter McCulloch, Art sedrakyan, Jane Blazeby Hani Marcus A real priveledge to spend time with Pedro Ramirez author of the now world famous LACC study. Also good to see Josh Burke I see such a place for IDEAL in surgical innovation. Need more academic units to sign up to the idea. A way of doing good science affordably. #valuebasedcare #evidencebasedmeficine #surgicalscience

Founding Executive Director at International Multidisciplinary Neuroscience Research Centre (IMNRC asbl/vzw)
I don't think so. Open World MCRC ON Audit has exposed the nonfeasance of the Belgian scientific and medical community. We therefore addressed ten different institutions worldwide hoping that they shall be able to find a solution where the Belgian scientific and medical has failed and/or refused to consider alternatives. Reaction? Complete inertia. Have the "best" medical universities in the world made this a better world? No. Not interested. Time to replace ALL UNIVERSITIES with CIS & WCA.

Let's talk about storytelling: how would you tell the story of this unfortunate incident to different people? #storytelling #science #sciencecommunication #communication #perspective

Is explaining why research valued at around EUR 37m was destroyed because of freezer failure science communication? I think it is. It's one of the stories about science, about how things can go wrong, and how setbacks can occur. How would YOU communicate this episode? To your head of department? To a local policy maker? To the kids at the local high school? To researchers whose work has been lost? One story, many ways of telling it, each with a different "angle" tailored to what will interest and/or be understood by the audience. #sciencecommunication #scicomm #communication #researchers #scientists #reallife SciComm Success https://lnkd.in/dSJMeNMp
