Book authors: think twice before relinquishing all audio rights to a publisher. It’s one thing to let your publisher produce and sell a full audio edition but you should hang on to the rights to create an abridged audio+video version. Very low-cost AI-powered tools exist to let you to create an abbreviated audio+video version of your content to post on your website, share socially, etc. Think of this as a Cliffs Notes audio+video version you can leverage to drive sales of the full edition. I say “audio+video” because this abridged edition can be more impactful than voice-only: Imagine a finished product that features a realistic AI-generated version of you reading this condensed edition. I believe this is the next generation of Amazon’s Look-Inside-the-Book feature where you own the service and it’s not locked into Amazon’s platform. Thanks to the power of genAI, you don’t have to spend much time or money for high production value results; any one of a number of affordable and capable tools will do the work for you. #Patreon is rolling out a new feature called "Audiograms," which will export a video preview of your audio/video content. In this case, a preview clip for the latest episode of my #bipoc #vampire #thriller #audiobook #series "The Denton Conspiracy". I used the audiogram to create a new version of the post, with updated subtitles to show different speakers (Audiograms include captions, but they're merely OKAY compared to what Premiere does). The "CEN" in the opening graphics is my Patreon channel called "Chuck Entertainment Network," (I couldn't think of another name ??), home of my first 3 audiobook series'-- "People of the Earth", "The Maximillian Emancipation," and "The Denton Conspiracy". This adds up to over 4 hours of content, and counting (7 episodes each). These three series are based on my own writing-- my first novel, "The Maximilian Emancipation," is the first of a trilogy (the second is "World|Time," and the third will be out this year). "The Denton Conspiracy" is based on a series of short stories I wrote several years ago. "People of the Earth" is a brand new series, based on a series of short films I produced in the last couple of years. The only issue I've encountered in this process is vocalizing the different characters. "The Maximilian Emancipation" has over 30 characters ALONE. For this reason, I have been using Voice.io to alter my voices into different characters, allowing me to perform in a variety of different voices, including female characters. It's a lot of work to do alone, but since I can't afford to hire a team...I have to rely on my insanity of learning every bit of software I can, and executing an endless stream of content based on my nutty ideas.
