Tip of the week: Coach Andy Reid's leadership style is a fantastic example of winning the hearts and minds of those he leads. Arguably the best NFL coach ever, Coach Reid's response when asked (on this podcast) how he wants to be remembered included traits like being Christ-centered, honest, hard worker, good teacher, and caring. He emphasized the need to "unite" different cultures, people, and motivations that exist on an NFL team. To do this, he emphasized with his team that perfection doesn't exist in anyone or anything. This perspective encouraged more patience and empathy for one another. Coach Reid takes every opportunity to praise his players and their loved ones. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's relationship was often brought up in post game press conferences, Coach Reid would always congratulate and encourage them for the love they shared for one another rather than call it a "distraction". Coach Reid's leadership style is a reminder that focusing on the strengths of those we lead and seeing beyond their mistakes can win their hearts and minds. Other topics discussed on this podcast that were cool: -Personality of Patrick Mahomes -His Wife's interactions with the players -Travis Kelce getting in his face during the super bowl -More Taylor Swift stories :) -What does it mean to be "All In" #leadership #nflcoaching #teamunity #empathy #encouragement https://lnkd.in/gputCT9B

What does a 9-year-old with a big dream, a crayon, and a piece of paper have in common with a top NFL draft pick and a Broadway star? They’re all the same person: Bo Eason At just 9 years old, Bo declared he’d become the best safety in the world— and stuck with that goal until he was drafted as the NFL’s top safety. He started his career in the NFL as a top pick for the Houston Oilers, continuing on with the San Francisco 49ers. During his 5-year career, Bo competed beside and against some of the greatest players of his generation. But when a career-ending knee injury shattered his dream, Bo didn’t stop— he once again defied the odds— this time by taking his personal story to Broadway. His one-man play, “Runt of the Litter,” was declared “one of the most powerful plays in the last decade” by The New York Times. Now, Bo helps the world’s top leaders and performers master the art of storytelling to inspire, motivate, and win. In this episode of “Success for the Athletic-Minded Man” podcast, Bo breaks down his No Plan B strategy for overcoming setbacks and reveals why the biggest limitations are the ones you place on yourself. If you’ve ever felt like the world is telling you “no,” Bo’s story is here to remind you that it only takes one person to say “yes”— you. Don’t miss this episode! If you are a new Charter Ops Professional, LISTEN to this podcast! Daniel Casselli is opening up the conversation to light up the needs in @charterschoolinsiderpodcast #educationalleadership. My favorite comment Trey Vernaci says... "you can get a Masters in Ed Leadership, but you have to learn OPS on the job because you can't go to school to learn this job." This is so aligned with my MS in ED Admin program and leadership experience: Mentor advisement "figure out where the water main shut off valve is on day one, learn the bus routes, sign the checkbook, determine keys, fire routes, and purchasing on the first week of the job!" As school leaders, we should practice winning championships with our teams every year. We can learn from legendary coach Jim Valvano, who would have his players practice cutting down the nets before the season even started. Cutting down the nets is a symbolic act of winning a championship in basketball. As we close out the school year and the end of March Madness, let's continue to think about how we can lead our schools to victory. Winning should be expected as a part of the process of getting better, just like it was for Coach Valvano's teams. Listen to more inspiring stories and ideas on the Schools Redefined podcast! #schoolleadership #teamwork #championshipmindset
