? Every relationship, with another person or with nature, is a two way street ? It's on of the takeaways from the 18th edition of #72HoursReload, our retreat for leading women in Ibiza last weekend with @veerlepappaert Waking up by the sea on the first of October is a true privilege. Especially when you can have a terrace talk by the sea with Jeronimo Mazarrasa. Born to a couple of hippies, he is Social Innovation Director at ICEERS, fostering the integration of ceremonial #plant practices in our Western societies. We learned that all #substances coming from plants have the same chemical ingredients we already have in our body as humans. The issue is the dose and knowing how to use plants for the benefit of our body, mind and soul. Indigenous people in South America spend years in solitude learning how to best use substances such as cocoa or lsd to live a better life in a healthy body, for example to control pain. In his opinion, the drugs came to the West, but the knowledge to use them in a good way did not follow, partly because of the legal ban that blocks knowledge sharing. Jeronimo is on a mission to change that and teach people how to have good relationships with powerful substances. He called it a two way street. "It's not because you put on Michael Jordan shoes that you can play like him". Needless to say that the topic sparked much #debate in our group. That's what we love, bringing hidden topics to light and then vividly exchanging #ideas, and agreeing to disagree. To find out more, check out some of the documentaries he made on the topic, such as 'The elders brothers warning' or 'The heart of the world'. ? Accept the rhythm, go with the flow ? It was quite a different experience from our first day, visiting some of the small villages and hippie markets in the more rural part of Ibiza. Over the years, we noticed that most of our friends like a #slow start. But it's always a challenge, packing as many unique #experiences and unique #encounters into 72 hours as we possibly can :) Having great local food is always part of the experience. When in Spain, that means taking the time for sharing colorful plates filled with delicious veggies, fresh fish and tasty meat, that keep on coming, making lunch a 3 hour activity instead of the hour in our schedule :) As every Reload is also about diving into the true soul of the places we go to, we just let it happen and arranged for a later boat back to the hotel, enjoying the most beautiful sunset while arriving at Ibiza city. Sometimes, when you accept the unexpected, other beautiful things happen. A bit like life, when you think about it. Across our 18 Reloads, we have learned that every country has its own rhythm and no matter how well we plan ahead, every trip offers surprises. ?
