As we prepare for a Category 4 hurricane in Tallahassee, FL I can't help but think how important it is for leaders of teams to ensure the safety of those they manage. So let me ask you Mr/Ms FEMA Director of Training/Education, In a Disaster situation, where a person's life depends on their basic needs, what really is critical at that moment in time is that they have food, water & shelter (Maslow's hierarchy of needs). Not whether if they believe they are gender different. A true faith-based organization will love the sinner and separate the sin (in their faith). Gender belief is also a freedom of a person to have of one's self-identity (Psychologically) which should not be taken away. However, in cases when people comingle, such as areas of a disaster refuge, we must respect ALL people's self-Identity and revert to our biological given gender out of respect for ALL people. Not a judgmental situation. Male's use the Men's room, Women use the Ladies room. If one chooses not to accept the aid provided by Faith Based Organizations, then the alternative would seem more hopless.
