Beginning April 1, 2025, the DRBA will implement a new cash toll rate for all vehicle classes at the Delaware Memorial Bridge. This first phase of a two-phased toll structure plan establishes a cash toll rate of $6.00 with a $1 charge per axle for commercial vehicles. This change is part of a plan to encourage more users to switch to E-ZPass, as approximately 79% of customers will remain unaffected by these new rates. The second phase of the toll structure plan will be effective no earlier than January 1, 2027, and will affect all toll classifications. Texas Motorcycle Dealers Association annual conference is fast approaching. Are you registered? I am excited about this year's conference (been a bit since I got back to see all my friends). We've filed some formal protests against industry vendors for multiple violations of state laws, and I'm hoping by the time we attend the conference that these issues will have been resolved and the vendors will once again be operating in compliance with the laws of the great state. Can't wait to bring everyone up to speed. These could be big wins for Texas dealers, who have long been enduring vendor overreach. And, on top of that, this year's featured speaker is Curtis Dubay!!! Chief Economist at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. There isn't much about the economy that Curtis can't speak to. You would be nuts to miss out on this year's TMDA conference. Toll Rates to Rise in Several States in 2025 Starting in January, toll rates on roads in Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York are set to rise anywhere from 3% to 15% for passenger and commercial vehicles. In the most modest increase, drivers traveling along the?New Jersey Turnpike?and Garden State Parkway will see a 3% hike in toll rates. The New Jersey Turnpike Authority approved the fee increase effective Jan. 1 as part of its budget for 2025. Pennsylvania drivers will see toll rates rise 5%?beginning Jan. 5 thanks to an increase approved by commissioners of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission in July. The commission noted that their system will shift away from weight-based classification in favor of an axle- and height-based Automatic Vehicle Classification system that standardizes rates. https://lnkd.in/edReckYW

The Supreme Court of Victoria made final orders on 6 December 2024 in the long running dispute between Astoria Brighton (Brighton Automotive Holdings Pty Ltd) and Honda Australia Pty Ltd arising from the unlawful termination of Astoria Brighton's Honda Dealer Agreement following Honda Australia's decision to move to an 'agency' distribution model.?Astoria Brighton was awarded contractual damages of $13,676,972 and interest of up to $3,867,023 as well as indemnity costs for part of the claim.?The Automotive Industry Group at HWL Ebsworth was pleased to be able to represent Astoria Brighton in the proceeding and assist it in achieving such a significant damages claim against Honda Australia. The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has defended its procurement of 1,010 Honda City cars worth Rs. 6 billion for revenue officers. In an official communication to the Senate Standing Committee on Finance and Revenue, FBR said these cars were exclusively for grades 17 and 18 field officers.
