Here's a simple tip if you are putting off creating video ?? Make videos they say, but doing it requires pushing through the pain barrier. So here's one action I take that makes it more enjoyable. I make time in the diary to batch video recordings - this is me in the middle of recording five short videos for LinkedIn. That's one video a week, every Friday taken care of. By planning ahead I find that I am more efficient ( ok it's not the quickest process yet) but I find myself in the flow. Here's a truth bomb ?? When you don't work like this you'll find ANY reason to do something else. Then it's another couple of months before you find courage to show up on video again. Give it a go and let me know how it works for you. And if you need some digital hand holding (moral support) call out ?? What tip do you have that has made a difference to creating video ? Let us know in the comments ?? We are all experimenting and having a play. PS If you're a purpose led Leader serious about de-risking brain drain please follow me Ali Uren and subscribe to my monthly LinkedIn newsletter - The Experiment ?? Brendan Wong Tayyiba Iram??

Feeling like you’re failing at LinkedIn because you’re not constantly pumping out content? There’s another way—a simpler one. Recently, I switched my engagement strategy on LinkedIn. My impressions are down, but my sales are up! Here’s how I flipped the script: ??I started commenting like a madman! No generic “great post” comments here. I either demo my expertise or spark engaging conversations with questions. ??I’m sending a ton of DMs - especially audio ones. I’m here to connect and help, and the best way to deep dive into a topic is in the DMs. Period. ??I’m inviting people to spend time with me off the platform. Whether it’s coffee chats, Chemistry Calls, or my weekly Free Coaching Fridays event, I’ve learned trust grows faster when you take the connection beyond LinkedIn. There are plenty of ways to be “active” here. You don’t have to be the world’s best content creator to build your business. Does putting out content help? Absolutely! But it’s not the only way to grow. What matters most is consistency, authenticity, and connection. Your people are out there. Go find them. — P.S. Want to hang out with me and an amazing group of people? Join us for Free Coaching Fridays! Every week, 1-2 audience members step into the spotlight to receive coaching on whatever topic or challenge they’re facing. You can find the sign-up link in the Featured section of my profile, and check out recent participant reviews in my Recommendations. — Hi ???? I’m Clay I coach those who dare to be different. DM me if you’re interested in: ? 1:1 coaching (see focus areas in my banner) ? Booking me as a podcast guest or speaker ? Workshops on neurodiversity or employee well-being

Most people fail on LinkedIn because of this one thing… -> Preparation. They post like they're throwing darts in the dark, hoping something sticks. No plan. No strategy. Just copying and pasting whatever they see someone else doing. And then they wonder why no one buys their book, signs up for their course, or books a call. Here’s the truth: Professionals spend 3 to 5 times more time preparing. Amateurs? They spend 3 to 5 times more time performing without preparation. Read that again. While amateurs are out there “grinding” and posting 3-5 times a day… Professionals are preparing once and delivering powerfully. One post that slaps >>> 10 posts that no one cares about. You don’t need to be everywhere, all the time. You need to show up with impact when you do. ->Own the room. ->Own the stage. ->Own the platform. Because at the end of the day, ask yourself this: Would you rather compare yourself to others… Or have others compared to you? ?? Tune in to my LinkedIn, follow me, and turn on the bell ?? Carlos Siqueira this Monday at 5 AM PST | 8 AM EST. I’m being interviewed live on LinkedIn about: Disrupting Stages and powerful strategies to get paid to speak. Don’t just show up. Be the one. ?? Repost this if you prepared to dominate your 2025 goals. #motivation #PublicSpeaking #LinkedIn #leadership #keynotespeaker

Asking for help has been one of the most challenging and most rewarding things I strive to practice - and it's definitely an ongoing practice! The fears listed in Natalie Rothfels' piece resonated with me: It's hard for so many reasons to admit not understanding something...but it's necessary for learning, growth, and effective collaboration. The reframing (à la Bill Burnett & Dave Evans’ life design) in Phase 3 has come in handy time and again. #productmanagement #careergrowth #lifedesign

This has probably been one of the most personal blogs I’ve read in a long time from the Lenny Rachitsky newsletter community along with Natalie Rothfels Asking for help is not a sign of weakness and this practice has been becoming a mantra for me. “This tendency to hold onto everything can be especially salient among product managers, who are lauded for their “ownership” of problems. It’s hard to be high-agency, take radical responsibility, be everyone’s unblocker, build great products—and do it alone. When done well, asking for help does not diminish your ownership or credibility. It increases your agency, builds higher-trust relationships, and models a willingness to put your vulnerability aside for the sake of the work.”
On asking for help (even when you really don't want to)

I talk a lot about Memory Darts - high-impact messages to introduce yourself and stand out (see link in comments). I love how my friend Sarah Santacroce put a couple of colorful lead thoughts in her LinkedIn opening: - Hippie turned Conscious Business Coach - Helping Changemakers Create & Market Their Life's Work The first phrase differentiates Sarah in a fun and unexpected way - it creates curiosity (tell me more!) The second phrase distills what she does and who she does it for, with an implied benefit/result. If she just said "Coach and Marketer," it would have been as forgettable as almost everyone else's LinkedIn intro. Instead, Sarah stands out. That's what you want to do as well.

What's the fastest way to lose authority on LinkedIn? Telling everyone you're an authority. Yet I see experts doing this daily: "Thought leader" "Go-to expert" "Industry guru" Let me show you what works instead. Here are 3 ways to demonstrate real authority: 1. Document Your Process Not "I helped 100 clients" But "Here's exactly how I helped them" Show: - Your frameworks - Your methods - Your systems 2. Break Down Your Failures Not "I never make mistakes" But "Here's what didn't work" Share: - Wrong assumptions - Failed approaches - Key learnings Ask Better Questions Not "Who needs help?" But "What's your biggest challenge with X?" Focus on: - Specific problems - Real obstacles - Current struggles True authority isn't about having all the answers. It's about asking the right questions. Want to see how I implement this in my own business? Check out my Authority Building Case Study in my featured section. Which of these three approaches feels most authentic to you? Share below ??

"My mentor told me to leave my comfort zone. So I left the country." "I skipped the small talk in Mexico and went straight to business. Instant regret." "The decision was made over McDonald's coffee at 3 AM." These are sample opening lines that grab attention. I'm gonna break down why the first line works so well: -It starts with a familiar business cliché ("leave your comfort zone") -Then, it subverts expectations with a literal interpretation -The lines also create instant tension between advice and action -It hints at a much bigger story in just 14 words -Finally, it makes you wonder: Was it worth it? What happened next? That's what great opening lines do. They hook readers with a payoff promise if they keep reading. They say, "Something interesting happened here, and I'm going to tell you about it in a way that matters to you." When I work with leaders on their stories, I often spend the most time finding these moments. Not the obvious wins or carefully curated LinkedIn highlights. We look for the turning points and decisions that seemed crazy as hell at the time but changed everything. As a ghostwriter and exec comms consultant (who is also a novelist and playwright), I've learned that the best business stories aren't about business at all. They're about humans making tough calls, taking risks, and sometimes being culturally unaware enough to "get straight to business" in the wrong meeting. If you want to tell your story but struggle with where to start, drop me a DM. I'm happy to help.?

Not everything’s a lesson Ryan, Sometimes..you just fail. Heard this before? Sure, its from the series —the office. Honest Confession: Scaling my business gave me a habit, so I have an habit of noting every word, that has the power to get stuck with me, for a real long time. I assume that if they can get stuck with me, Someone who wrote it…is definitely scaling. Perfect Branding and Influence right? Coming from that habit, I have… tons of lessons that I save daily, watch these: ? Stay curious. ? Be accountable ? Have a end goal ? Focus on ‘one’ thing ? Regain your attention span. ? Act fast, don’t just overthink. ? Excel at one skill for 3 months. ? Be Delusional (you can make it). ? Figure things out as quickly possible. ? Be consistent for 90 day, then complain. ? Practice with long-form content, it helps. ? If Insta doesn’t bring in money —uninstal. ? Have Accountability Partners around you. PS: I absolutely love the second last one.
