Only the U.S Army and the U.S. Navy can take my military discharge code of RE-3 and the future is uncertain so an age waiver for military service might be needed. You also got people in politics, the lawyers, and the Army general that got to Miami, FL in 2021. According to U.S. Navy in theory, I might not need to repeat bootcamp and maybe with the Army. The Air Force don’t usually take prior service first because new applicants comes first. I know that Air Force, Marine Corps and Coast Guard doesn’t take RE-3. The Air Force always works with the Army. Regular people that fail bootcamp in the Army have to repeat bootcamp in the Air Force too.

As part of #ArmedForces week, today marks specific recognition of those in our Reserve Armed Forces. You might even spot some wearing their military uniform to their civilian work today, where safe and practicable. Reservists are commonly cited as "twice the citizen" as they choose to support the Armed Forces in their spare time, typically during the evenings and weekends, but occasionally full-time when the country needs additional support. I was an Army Reservist for 13 years. I had a huge amount of opportunities presented to me which helped my professional development, which, in turn, my employers were able to benefit from. Whether that was transferring ideas/best practice/working models to/from the military and civilian worlds, or in the training & experience I gained in leadership and operational roles. Do you know any Reservists? How does your company support and enable them?

On April 23, 1908, Congress created the Medial Reserve Corps, the official predecessor of the Army Reserve. Following World War I, under the National Defense Act of 1920, Congress reorganized the United States land forces by authorizing a Regular Army, a National Guard, and an Organized Reserve (Officer Reserve Corps and Enlisted Reserve Corps) of thirty-five divisions, which later became the Army Reserve. This provided a peacetime pool of trained Reserve officers and enlisted men for use in war. The Army Reserve Corps of Medical Officers was created with 160 physicians; 116 years later, there are more than 200,000 Reservists in more than 148 fields that may be called to action when their country requires their service. #Happybirthday #armyreserves #NICoE #DefenseIntrepidNetwork #DIN

United States Department of Defense US Army United States Air Force U.S. Coast Guard United States Marine Corps US Navy Should the military be holding flight patterns so close to busy airports especially at night? And apparently at least the pilot was using night vision goggles while flying the uh60. Aren't there a type of oculus lenses that help with night operation that does not limit your field of view like night vision goggles? addendum: Since apparently this uh60 was on a routine training mission for the taxi service that transports VIPs throughout the area, even though this is a military craft, it should be standard procedure that these types of crafts have the same proximity alerts as commercial airliners. Because they are specifically shuttling VIPs, they are almost no different than any other civilian air travel. This would apply to the 12th battalion and other similar battalions. And there have also been calls for greater safety checks and repairs especially of older models with the crashes that have happened over the years with this weapons platform.

In my life I've had many ask, and I know others wonder, what makes the Marine Corps unique and why do we insist on calling ourselves Marines, not Soldiers? It's because, seen below, to become a Marine is one of the hardest things to do in the US military. A US Marine's basic requirement, The Crucible, is in the top 3 hardest training in the US armed services with Navy Seal and Army Ranger training. The difference is EVERY Marine must go through the Crucible before they can graduate Boot Camp and earn the title of a US Marine. Not all make it but if you do, you never forget it. In contrast, the Navy's "Seal"and Army's "Ranger" training are specialize for advanced combat readiness in their branch and not part of their core competencies. You must be selected to go to those and very few are. The mission of all 3 trainings is to be first to the fight and ready under any geographical condition using any form of mobility available. This is why we call ourselves Marines and not soldiers and the same reason Ranger call themselves Rangers and Seals called themselves Seals. Not to disparage any other branch of our beloved armed forces. Everyone of us signed the line to give our life for a greater cause and that makes everyone who served selfless heroes. You might look at this and think it has nothing to do with project management… I look at it and think that it takes someone with project management skills to identify the capability that needs to be trained, develop a plan for how to build that capability, calculate the time and costs to train the capability, identify risks to accomplishing the training plan (as well as risks to the personnel), communicate the plan and risk to stakeholders and decision-makers, and assign the responsibilities for executing the series of training events that ultimately creates the capability for the organization. Finally, someone to assess the training program and iterate to improve effectiveness. We have amazing people in the military that have these skills and can coordinate to safely provide “sketchy” capabilities, but may need help with learning and translating their skills into the project management frameworks that are standard in civilian job roles. Let’s help them figure it out. ——————————————— I’m Nate Champion. ?? For my CH-46 and 47 pilot friends, how hard is it to land in the water to do this? Seems pretty sketchy! ?? United States Marine Corps US Army US Navy #veterans #veteransupport #veteranshelpingveterans

Genuinely interesting idea, and as many of us know, one commonly used in corporate America. "Under the new policy, the five military services will develop pilot programs that include anonymous evaluations by peers and subordinates that would be submitted as part of command selection or qualification boards for O-5 and O-6 paygrades, which are lieutenant colonel and colonel in the Army, Air Force and Marine Corps, and commander and captain in the Navy." In my mind, most critically, the questions must clearly query on the specific and critical demands of the evaluatee's potential selection for a command position - training and leading warfighters, and not an off-set agenda or some other peripherally-relevant (irrelevant) distraction. I highly recommend accessing these and seeing what our competitive writters are writting about, how they are writting, and consider what your topic would be for next year. Just doing the first two will make you better in your profession. What topics are we missing?
Congratulations to Maj. Thomas L. Haydock and Maj. Jack C. Meeker of the U.S. Army National Guard for winning the 2024 Gen. William E. DePuy Special Topics Writing Competition. Look for their article and those of other top entrants in future issues of Military Review at https://lnkd.in/ev9d-KE.

Pleased to share the Fall issue of Canadian Army Today. A noticeable shift in priorities for the new Army commander, lots of C4ISR-related activity, and an interesting conversation with the commandant and dean of the Army's Command and Staff College. Plus plenty more. https://lnkd.in/dKxW6Du
