Today is World Menopause Day Women will experience peri/menopause symptoms that can, in some cases, be debilitating and have a significant impact on everyday activities. Without appropriate care, these symptoms can have severe implications for women’s physical and mental health, workplace participation, and personal relationships. Women make up half of the UK workforce, and those over 50 years old are the fastest-growing demographic in the workplace, but many feel forced to reduce their hours, pass up promotions, or even quit their jobs because of peri/menopause. Discussing peri/menopause at work can feel challenging. Still, it’s important to help reduce the taboo and make it a more comfortable subject, leading to a more inclusive and understanding workplace. World Menopause Day is not just a date on the calendar. It’s an opportunity for businesses to show support and create an inclusive environment that can foster a sense of belonging and enhance their reputation as employers who truly care about their workforce’s well-being.
