This dialogue is co-chaired by the UN Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs (DPPA) and Interpeace, and convenes a diverse civil society actors in a Dialogue focusing on thematic priorities leading up to the 2025 Review of the UN Peacebuilding Architecture, with conflict prevention as the overarching theme and three sub-themes – financing for peacebuilding, meaningful civil society inclusion, and Youth, Peace, and Security (YPS) –viewed through the lens of prevention. #GhYouth4Peace #YouthLead #ChoosePeace
Our Annual report, highlights the foundation of our five core peacebuilding principles, which have provided a strong foundation for developing solutions to conflict-related challenges globally. While peacebuilding will need to evolve, these five principles should serve as an invitation to envision new paradigms and solutions, as they provide an invaluable starting point to ensure that this evolution is grounded in learning and evidence. ? "A rudderless world" https://lnkd.in/ewx-wPqZ This year's Peace Report is a very tough but also crucial and valuable read. It does paint a grim outlook about the state of our world in which conflicts are more present then ever. On the other hand it shows once again that the idea to strengthen lasting peace through the involvement - no, the empowerment! - of the local sphere is crucial and must not be downplayed by decision-makers any longer. Localization is not a check-box to check so applications sound better in the offices of the Global North. True inclusivity and local ownership make or break the prospect of lasting peace. We at Robert Bosch Stiftung are aware that "local solutions" in conflict situations are often not seen as decisive, relevant or "big" enough. But given the downward spiral we experience in the peace ecosystem of our world right now, maybe the old ways of doing things should be put under more scrutiny and explain themselves, while more resources and attention should be placed on those who know their context and conflict and their needs best! 10 个月I missed seeing more organisations on this list that are more practice orientated and focus on fields that result in peace and confidence building. A concrete example is Prepared International (PPI) which is heavily engaged in the field of disaster diplomacy. Peace is often tested the most when things fall apart whether from war or environmental disasters. On the other hand, engaging in this type of diplomacy and collaborative dialogue means that those engaged can come together and support each other in the face of conflict, collapse or scarcity. With the widening gap between research and application (theory and knowledge vs. action), lets also highlight more ways to get involved to bridge the gap between publishing about peace to actively participating in peace building.
