Reflections on AHR 2024 The AHR 3 day trade show held annually in various locations throughout the United States is always an interesting affair. What manufacturers will be presenting ? what new technologies will be showcased ? and what channel partners of mine will be attending ? are questions that I asked prior to attending. The good news was that I was able to attend for the first time since 2019 and the weather was suprisingly mild for the end of January in Chicago. Walking past the various booths, looking at manufacturer's I represent and competitors to them I reflected on how much had changed yet how much remains the same. Gone are the manufacturer's booths with large footprints and seemingly every piece of equipment in their catalog on display, those manufacturer's are still there but with downsized booths. Common threads remain, energy efficiency, and refrigerant changes AGAIN, but new challenges to our industry. Electrification and decarbonization are front and center and represent difficulties, and yet opportunities. How to handle these challenges in a responsible, measured, and sensible way and what technologies will be our industries "go to" solutions remains to be decided. The highlight for me was the time spent with work colleagues, manufacturer partners, and customers thankful that this has not changed and hopefully never will. Leaving the event on Tuesday I thought how quickly the 33 years I have spent in industry have gone by and how blessed I have been along the way. Till next time.........
