The Molina Healthcare Charitable Foundation (MolinaCares), in collaboration with Passport by Molina Healthcare, donated $25,000 to the Rita June Foundation, Inc. to support its efforts to combat food insecurity through the organization’s pantry program. The MolinaCares funding is the largest donation ever for the Louisville-based pantries. The donation will purchase 9,500 pounds of food. According to Feeding America’s most recent data, nearly 102,000 individuals were considered food insecure in 2022 in Jefferson County. That’s up from 77,700 in 2021, marking a 31% increase in just one year. From 2019 to 2023, the price of food rose by 25%. To address the growing need the Rita June Foundation, started by LDG Development, Inc., opened five strategically-located pantries in affordable housing properties across Louisville, stocked solely by the donations of the company’s employees. | LDG Development, LLC

Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) are one of the most effective and efficient ways to give to charitable organizations, especially during the year-end giving season. DAFs can sustain programs and provide essential resources that carry organizations into the new year. Reflect on how you can strategically support sustainable initiatives and create lasting impact this year-end giving season. Charities Aid Foundation (CAF)

Say, for example, that a donor had a pot P to donate annually to eight similar charities.?She could measure their performance based on x interventions costing y annually (the formula is more complicated, this is a simple example).?By applying Markovitz Theory of Portfolio Selection she could allocate P among the eight charities according to the Markowitz calculated coefficients efficiently in order to maximize her personal charitable giving utility.?The risk-return element is part of the formula.?Am I on to something or barking up the wrong endangered tree forest??Answers welcome on an e-postcard.

This simple step helps make a huge difference in the lives of those who need it most
Our clients have helped to raise a milestone £1million for the SJP Charitable Foundation by switching to paperless correspondence. With every switch we donate £5 to the Charitable Foundation, helping to reduce our environmental impact whilst funding valuable community causes across the UK and overseas. This means that charities like Jamie’s Farm, who run a therapeutic programme centred around farming, family, and therapy to help young people thrive academically, socially and emotionally at school, can continue making a positive impact. Thank you to all SJP clients who have made the switch – see the difference it’s made for charities like Jamie’s Farm below: https://ow.ly/uEOR50RRoFG
