A tremendous shout-out and heartfelt thank you to all #TeamParker members from Parker Aerospace and Parker Meggitt who supported us this Saturday at the 2024 Aerospace Summer Games hosted by Northrop Grumman at El Camino College! This year we had over 330+ folks sign-up from 8 different divisions as they competed for Team Parker at the largest gathering of Aerospace and Defense Manufacturing companies in Southern California (6,000+ Attendees) for a day of fun in the sun with friends and family in a variety of sports from Dodgeball, to Ultimate Frisbee, Soccer, Volleyball, a Relay Race, Human Pyramid and Water Balloon Toss. Parker Hannifin and Parker Meggitt welcomed teams from FSD Irvine, FSD North Hollywood, MFCD, CFCD, Group, SSO, DSD Irvine, and Filtration Carson. A sincere and spirited thank you to the all of the team captains, volunteers, competitors, and the Parker 2024 ASG Planning Committee for making this day possible, it could not have been done without you! Thank you for celebrating the spirit of Aerospace and Defense and for proudly representing #TeamParker in a spectacular display of passion and colour! Today, Boom announced the successful flight of XB-1, the world's first independently developed supersonic jet, at the Mojave Air & Space Port in Mojave, California. Flown by Chief Test Pilot Bill "Doc" Shoemaker, XB-1's inaugural flight marks a major milestone toward the return of supersonic travel onboard Overture - Boom's supersonic airliner. The XB-1 program provides the foundation for the design and development of Overture, while establishing a safety-first culture in engineering and manufacturing. "Today, XB-1 took flight in the same hallowed airspace where the Bell X-1 first broke the sound barrier in 1947." said Blake Scholl, founder and CEO of Boom Supersonic. "I've been looking forward to this flight since founding Boom in 2014, and it marks the most significant milestone yet on our path to bring supersonic travel to passengers worldwide."
