Happy Friday everyone and thank you for all the love for our DVMs as we continue to celebrate Veterinarian Appreciation Week! Dr. Anna Decker is up next, and while our team has all met and even done a team building workshop with her, most of our clients would be surprised to learn that Dr. Decker has a TWIN SISTER! (heyyyy Meghan! ??) Dr. Decker is our holistic vet med specialist, so it does not come as a shock to us that her favorite part about being a veterinarian is "the privilege of coming alongside pet parents with every opportunity to help them thrive, specifically with the help of integrative medicine". Her integrative approach to veterinary medicine also bleeds into her impact on our team and hospital atmosphere as well, and it's easy to see that her passion for health, wellness, and quality of life for both pets and humans runs deep. Client communication is a big part of the veterinary professionals job, and at times it can seem like one of the most challenging aspects of it. Miscommunication and lack of understanding causes stress for both pet owners and veterinary professionals, and keeps our patients from receiving the care they need. Recently, at Modern Animal, we tested this assumption by providing communication training to 10 doctors through side by side coaching after appointments. Within 8 weeks we saw a 12% increase in client acceptance of the doctor’s recommendations. It’s an amazing feeling to be able to build programs for the advancement of the profession. I’m so grateful to the doctors who volunteered to participate, and to my team for executing so flawlessly! Onward and upward!
