?? Did you know seeing too many target pairs can slow down competitions? ?? In Sporting Clays, adhering to the "show pair" rules during competitions ensures fairness and efficiency. The first shter can view a good presentation of targets from the shting station, helping strategize shots, especially for true pairs. However, repeatedly asking to see pairs can slow down the competition and cause delays. ? The NSCA rules state that while the first sh**ter can view a good presentation, the process should not be excessively prolonged. Viewing multiple show pairs beyond what's necessary is discouraged, as it not only slows down the squad but also impacts the event schedule and increases costs for the hosting club. ?? Yesterday we launched Soul Circuit powered by LevelTech and iPadel. In September we started running 3 Americano tournaments* each week with a view to creating a club league structure for 2025. As is often the case in #padel, levels were an issue - how do we categorise players into the right leagues? Do we use their PLAYTOMIC rating or not? We chose not to and instead we've now hosted 60+ Americano tournaments. So far 111 players have entered and we assigned points based on where they finished, 8 points to the winner and so on down to 1 for the wooden spoon. Our leaderboard uses average points rather than accumulated points. How many times you've played in an Americano divided into your total points accumulated. A player with 61 points from 10 tournaments has an average of 6.1. Now we have months of data, we can accurately pair players up and put them into the appropriate league rather than arbitrarily using ratings. Soul Circuit starts on February 4th with 4 divisions of 12 pairs, with promotion and relegation factored in. It's a great way to build competitive jeopardy into a small club structure and continue to attract new players who are looking for more than just open matches. Soul Circuit matches will also count towards Playtomic ratings so regardless of ability, every Soul Circuit player will get a competitive match. In 2025, many local councils are focusing on the design of multi-activity sports areas, where sport is the vehicle for engaging the youth through play and recreation. The surfaces have evolved to enhance the experience of the users and that of the local community by using colour and design to excite people to use the court areas. It is now common to see single and double court size spaces with multi-coloured designs around tennis, basketball, 5-a-side football, volleyball and games for primary school children all on a single space. The Smart Synthetic Sports Surface Seminars in Melbourne (13 February) and Sydney (20 February) will be exploring how councils, sports and the latest technology are aligning to encourage participation at the local level. It's a promised day of racing with refreshments and excellent races expected. What is interesting is the Tote or Pool Betting, where the odds of a race are determined after the race. Everyone puts money on their chosen horse, it enters a common pool. The bet organiser takes a percentage from the pool and at the end of the race, the remainder in the pool is divided amongst the people who put money on the winning horse.Contrast this with Fixed Odd betting which online sports betting in Kenya uses. This is where the odds for each contestant is known before the start of the event. Just had a fabulous time at the US Open with my family—what a difference 12 years can make! Last time I visited was with my daughter when she was just 4 years old. Now she’s 16, and we got to experience the tournament together, along with the whole family. The atmosphere was electric, and it was amazing to see how much the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center has evolved. Here are a few notable changes from the past decade: Stadium Upgrades: The new Louis Armstrong Stadium and the renovated Arthur Ashe Stadium are stunning. The retractable roofs are a game-changer, allowing play to continue regardless of the weather. Fan Experience: The interactive fan zones and enhanced amenities have significantly improved the event experience. From tech-driven enhancements to better dining options, it’s clear that the focus is on creating a more engaging environment. Technology and Coverage: Advances in technology have transformed how we watch and follow the game. From high-definition broadcasts to real-time stats and player tracking, the way we experience tennis has become more immersive and informative.
