It was just a few minutes past seven in the morning when I stopped at the fueling station to get petrol. I prefer to visit this particular gas station because I find the staff very polite, helpful and they have a smile on their face. And what a nice feeling it was this morning, when the lady at this petrol pump handed me a complimentary copy of today's newspaper. It just brought a smile to my face. Think about it. This is what customer delight and client satisfaction is about, isn't it? What a strategy! Spending a few cents per 'customer' converts them to repeatable 'clients'. One of the easiest ways you can protect yourself from the bad guys is not putting your pick up information on your rate confirmations. I don’t provide the pick up address until the day of pickup and I know the truck is empty, I also don’t provide the pick up number until I personally speak with the driver. There’s an invite only telegram group of bad guys who sell information to each other including pick up numbers and addresses. Think about it, somebody calls you and books a load you give them all the pertinent information and they hand the load right back to you but now they have all of the pick up information, they could turn around and sell that to the bad guys who can send in a double brokered truck in an attempt to steal your freight. Sometimes good guys operate in bad faith under the radar. Stay vigilant, my friends!!

I know you don't, but you want to know what's in my trash folder the most? Emails from carriers that say "details pls". Now, I'm speaking from the spot market here of course, as I live here ??♂? but things need to change from the carrier side of things (I'll get to the brokers). Sure maybe a decade ago setting up automatic emails to send out about posted loads worked but get with the times. Read a post and start the conversation with negotiations especially when it's posted with $$. Sure you could say well I'm dispatching multiple loads and trucks.. but I don't think that cuts it anymore as an excuse to keep sending automatic emails (as they go straight to the trash). But I'm open to hear other reasons as to why this is still a thing, seriously as I could be missing something. Brokers - Do better and put details in the load posting. You can put enough details in whatever posting service you use to start the conversation better between the carrier and broker.
