New study just published in IJSPP. In terms of Vmax, performing better with heavy-sled loads (ie, 50%BM) appears to be much more advantageous for forwards. For these players, stronger associations (vs Backs) btw URS + RST performances when considering higher velocities (ie, sprint VEL 30 m) and Vmax. We suggest: RST programs for backs may not benefit from the use of heavier loads (ie, ≥50% BM), whereas this loading condition may be more advantageous for forwards.
